Time to get together and think on the good things from this past week. I’m joining in with Susanne at Living to Tell the Story our lovely hostess for Friday’s Fave Five.
1. Last Friday we were traveling home from San Diego but before we left I had a nice walk along the waterfront. It was good to walk in the sunshine and see new things.

2. On Sunday we became members of our church. It is a good step for us. Here’s a photo from our current sermon series. The series is called Desperate Days.

3. On Monday I traveled to Canada to get together with the MGCC girls to celebrate a special birthday for two of our girls! What a wonderful time we had at Harrison Hot Springs.

4. After another busy day on Tuesday I had a totally free day on Wednesday. I love days like that mixed in with my busy days. Sleeping in with no time crunch schedule is so peaceful. Being able to enjoy my coffee while reading and watching the sun rise and little birds coming to the feeder is a good way for me to start the day. Don’t worry y’all, the feeder is full again!!

5. We started up our small group again after our holiday break and it’s meeting at our house. It was good to get re-connected.
Hope you have time to consider the good things from your past week. I hope to get around and see what your favorites were. Are you throwing a Super Bowl party or going to one?
Wow, that first shot just shimmers. Beautiful, Ellen. Free days. What must that be like?? I’m with you on reconnecting with small groups. Glad you’re back together.
I LOVE the days of keeping the front curtains closed and wandering through my day in PJ’s or WHATEVER! Life has gotten so full that I treasure days like that. Rejoicing that you have settled into a good church and YAY for small groups. Ours just met here last night and GLORY it was so good. Today we are actually going to get some rain…it’s been so dry, so even rain is good although a bit of snow would be joyous. Tonight we celebrate the end of hubby’s current job and look forward to Monday when he starts something new. Hope your weekend is glorious!
Love to see that gathering of gals in the pool! And I think I was confused back along…a first for me ☺…, but, just so you’ll know, all you MGCC gals are interchangeable.
Your church looks very sophisticated using technology and everything. Cool.
I am sure that it feels good to know what you’ll be up to in the coming weeks and to settle in to a certain level of normalcy.
Great photos Ellen..you better go fill up that bird feeder:)
Happy for you to have a home church, it’s wonderful to belong.
I love the picture of the San Diego waterfront!
How neat that you got to go to Canada for a meeting with the MGCC gals. Visiting hot springs seems a perfect way to enjoy time with each other!
Congrats on finding a church home! Everyone needs one.
Looks like you picked a totally rockin’ church! what a full, fuller week of fullness for sure!
Sounds like an intriguing sermon series.
A great week Ellen – I really enjoyed reading about the MGCC celebration! Wish I could have joined you in that hot spring – I’ve never done that before.
So glad you found a home church – a blessing for you and Dear – and you both will be such a blessing to them.
Love your little chickadee – they’re the same as ours.
xoxo
It sounds like a good week. I am so glad you are able to take some time to relax in between the busy moments. Having small group at your home takes a bit of preparation…it sounds wonderful.
I am sure you will be a blessing in your church…because you are a blessing to me.
That first shot is just gorgeous. What a lively area for a walk.
Glad you had some fun get-togethers mixed in with some quiet, restful time.
Glad you became members of your church and joined with that body of believers in that way.
Your week was so full of wonderful things. I LOVE that photo of the San Diego Bay. All your (plural) posts at hot springs is making me want to find one down here.
Glad you have found a church home.
You mentioned several of my favorite things this week: walking by the water, natural hot springs and a day with no schedule. Love the picture of all the MGCC ladies in the pool 🙂
I looked at birdfeeders last week at several stores. But I didn’t buy one in the end. The only place I could put one is on my fence and I’m afraid the cats would have easy access to the feeding birds. (I live in an apartment.) All this to say I enjoyed your bird photo.
Sounds like you MGCC girls are a close knit group – what a blessing that is. I’ve never been in hot springs, but if it’s anything like a hot tub, what a relaxing, wondrous feeling!
Hurray for small groups! (I coordinate small groups at my church.)
I didn’t go to a Superbowl party. Instead a friend and I went to see War Horse.
