FFF ~ Back To It!

I’ve been away for awhile but it’s time again to get back to Friday’s Fave Five with Susanne at Living to Tell the Story. It’s always good to look back and see the good things in your life.

1. It was good to get back to somewhat of a routine.

2. Dear and I rearranged some furniture and are enjoying a “new look”.

3. In the process of rearranging we purged some items that we don’t need and just got in the way. January is a great month to purge. Hopefully I can purge some of those holiday pounds, too.

4. We have enjoyed some wonderful sunrises.

5. Phone conversations with my daughter and daughter in law.

It’s January and for us we are still in celebration mode as both our sons were born in January. We are already looking forward to a birthday meal together. How’s January going for you?

  1. I like the way you put that first one, Ellen. “Somewhat of a routine.” That’s the best we can hope for around here too! Seems like we’re thinking along the same lines this week.

  2. It’s good to have celebrations in January..it’s a month when many are feeling out of sorts.
So far January has been moving along at a good pace for me..it’s a good time to declutter and organize, an ongoing job it seems:)

  3. January boys! We love’em around here and next week will be the beginning of those celebrations. I will try not to eat too much cake because getting rid of excess pounds is going to be priority number one.

Those sunrises are beautiful. I’m seeing a few around Blogdom and so I wonder why we see none here. Hmmm…

  4. I’m getting into “somewhat of a routine” too πŸ™‚

We just celebrated my parents’ in law 60th anniversary last night. And I think that was the last of the festivities til Feb πŸ™‚

Love your new look – that must feel good.

Have you skyped with Katie yet? I like skyping even more than phoning – it’s sweet to see their faces – not to mention free.

(I’m working on those holiday pounds too. sigh – it seems never-ending πŸ™‚

  5. I love purging – or decluttering as I like to call it. I like your new look in your living room.

I adore sunrises and sunsets as well. I don’t know why I don’t get out there and take more photos of it!

January birthday celebrations are great – lots of wonderful people I know are born in January!

  6. Nice to join you again…I have always loved this spot…and want to prioritize it…You have a full and exciting spring to look forward to…Enjoy.

  7. So good to see you’re back! So good to be back in the normal routine, isn’t it? Your home looks lovely! LOVE the blue and purple sky, breathtaking! Have a great weekend Ellen!

  8. Well…I’m a January girl! It has it’s ups and downs…celebrating in January. Hopefully, there are more ups than downs this year. πŸ™‚

My routine went out the window by mid-December and I’m still trying to get back in the groove. The groove feels good. Glad to see you back to FFF.

  9. Happy birthday to your sons! Nice to carry out festivities a little longer!

Jan. is a nice month to purge — not sure why, but it’s nice to have the urge and time to do so.

    Love those sunsets.

  10. January is a great month for purging, on many levels. I read your post below on re-decorating and we are pretty much the same, we have never gone out and bought new stuff, we just use the old stuff and freebies in new ways. Its fun and a better use of our resources πŸ™‚

  11. Looks like you’ve made some nice changes at home. Those sunrises…..wow! You guys know how to keep the celebrations going.
BTW….you asked…my January has me purging too. It’s a good thing!

  12. I think we all welcomed out routine back this week. I have been doing a lot of tossing as I resort my house back to its pre-Christmas state. I love to take bags to goodwill. It is a fantastic feeling. I should learn my lesson and stop filling it back up again!

We have a lot of January birthdays, too. SIX! But I love having something to celebrate since the short, cold days make me moody.

    What amazing sunrises!

  13. I hear ya on the purging of the holiday pounds. I wish I found it as easy as purging “stuff” I don’t want.

The sunsets are beautiful. Love your pictures.

  14. January has been a month of getting back to “normal.” I see I still have a few decorations to put away. tsk. tsk.

Your home looks so inviting, perfect for visiting with friends or quietly relaxing with a fire in the background.

My son’s birthday is next week and so we also will be celebrating. I will have to see if he will use skype. Even though we live only 90 minutes apart, we don’t get to see each other that often. Skype would certainly fill a void (for me anyway).

    Your sunset pictures are gorgeous!
