New Moon…

Looking out at the Sunrise on Thursday morning I saw our new moon. We were very frosty and cold. I was also on the phone with my dear mom on Thursday trying to get a recipe for one of my favorite Christmas treats that she bakes. It’s going to take a lot of experimenting to get it right in a smaller batch. I’ve got to cut the recipe down from her recipe that takes 5 pounds of flour! OYE! She called later to tell me an ingredient she forgot.  This is going to be quite the experiment but well worth it when I get it right! On Friday Dear and I are headed south for a Christmas celebration with dear friends.

So partying and experimenting are on my agenda…how about yours…

About Ellen am a wife, mother, baba (grandmother) and a loyal friend. Jesus is my King and my hope is in my future with Him.

  1. Your pictures are gorgeous! Love those mom recipes that make huge batches :). Now when my daughter phones for a recipe, I find that I sometimes call back too with another hint or comment – I think my mom did the same to me…..happy baking and experimenting. Wonder what it is???
Safe travels and have a wonderful Christmas!

  2. I think that I’ll make fudge. Can’t bake cookies! My daughter just called to tell me that the roads are a fright and to stay home. Now this gives me pause. Does she think I’m old? Hmmm…

Had to laugh that your mom called you adding an ingredient. Better check over that list a few times before you embark on your recipe. Ha! So cute.

    Have great fun today, Ellen!

  3. Just scrolled through a bunch of your posts this month…very traditional yet creative decor; gorgeous home furnishings (and paint color!), impressively tidy room from your “feet up view”; and yet one more thing we have in common: the egg nog effect.

    Merry Christmas!!!

  4. I’m smiling at your dialog with your mom…and wish you all the best with your experiment! I wish my mom was still there for me to chat with…about recipes…or the weather…or whatever!
