Free Them 5K!

World Concern in Seattle sponsored a 5K Walk/Run to help raise money to stop human trafficking. Our DIL Laura works for this organization. We got together for this worthwhile event. This is a photo of us at the finish line. Our son Josh and Scott (Laura’s brother) ran the 5K. Laura’s mother Pat, her SIL Lisa (with child), the doggie Mylie sp.? and I walked the 3.3 mile route. Laura worked the event and then cheered us across the finish line.

Photobucket replaced all my photos with ugly black and grey boxes and they are holding my photos hostage until I pay them lots of money. I’m slowly going through all my posts and trying to clean them up and replacing some photos. Such a bother.

About Ellen am a wife, mother, baba (grandmother) and a loyal friend. Jesus is my King and my hope is in my future with Him.

  1. What a good way to spend May Day! Does World Concern work all over the world and in specific locations? I’ve heard of them and it is good that organizations, and individuals pull together to help stop human trafficking.
Your flowers in the lower post a beauties! That yellow one looks like a poppy from this angle but it seems early. Glad you had such a nice week!

  2. Great finish, Ellen! You know, you’ve been doing 5Ks for two years every week with me. John figured out that our usual route is almost exactly 5K! I knew you could do it. And the reason you did it was the best I can think of. Free Them!

  3. Way to go Ellen…I’m off early tomorrow morning to cheer three of my family on through the Vancouver Marathon. I’ve got the grand boys in tact and away we go…Cheers to all of you.
