I’ve Been Plugging Away…

…at all the boxes of stuff we had in the attic!

One night during my “I’m awake at 3 A.M. moments” I got this genius idea to take all those old photos out of their frames that were stored in two different tubs. Later that week I bought a package of 5 x7 and 8 x 10 archival quality sleeves. On Tuesday I slipped each photo I de-framed into them. They will all fit in two small binders instead of two big plastic tubs! The old frames will be sold at a garage sale.

While I was completing this task I came across this old photo of Dear and I. I think this was taken at our engagement party way back in 1974.

And in other news…

My dad went home from the hospital last evening. Yesterday while my mom was saying goodbye to some friends from church who came to visit she stumbled and hit her head. She’s ok but she caused quite a stir. I’ll be calling them later to see how their night at home went.

Tonight is the first MLS season game for the Seattle Sounders. I’ll be meeting up with my son and DIL to head downtown for the March to the Match and dinner at the Taco Stand and then the game! Fun times are afoot!!

And yes it is finally raining again the the Northwest.

Hope you all have a good productive Thursday! Blessings…

Photobucket is holding all my photos that I stored on their site from 2007-2015 hostage replacing them with ugly grey and black boxes and asking for a large ransom to retrieve them. It is a slow process to go through all my posts deleting the ugly boxes.

  1. Well I’ve never done de-cluttering in the middle of the night…I usually try and stay very calm hoping to be able to get back to bed for the second round of night sleep…isn’t it all crazy. I’ve been doing a major basement purge and it feels SO GOOD.
Glad to hear your dad is home….I try not to think about my MIL walking around her home…she is bent over and so wobbly on her feet…just have to trust God to watch over her.

  2. That is one sweet photo of you and your Dear:)
Good to hear your Dad is home and I hope your Mom is doing okay too.
I love the idea of taking photos out of the frames..I too have a bunch sitting in a rubbermaid box..I shall do the same with mine.

  3. You’re having those 3 am moments too? I’m not usually as productive as you. I read πŸ™‚

A sweet picture of you and Dear.

Your poor mom – hope she’s doing ok now. So glad to hear the good news about your Dad!

  4. You used your time, at 3am, very well!! The photo of you and Dear is priceless!! We will keep your folks in our prayers…falling can be so upsetting and so can a stint in the hospital.
Your recent photos exactly catch the beauty of a Northwest spring!!

  5. Spooky…the pictures out of frames and into album with archival sleeves activity is happening at my place too. It is surprising how tired some of those frames looked after gracing walls and desks for 20 or 30 years.

Mr. B is wearing an almost identical shirt to your hubby in a picture taken around our engagment in 1976. My year book showed long haired girls with their hair parted down the center. My mom’s show girls with curls, my grandmother’s show marcelled waves, and my great grandmother’s all had the Gibson girl poofy sides and bun atop the head.

I’m thinking the current crop of girls are more original with their choppy locks and pink streaks…

  6. I love your idea….that’s what I’ve been doing this past winter…but you just gave me one more idea about emptying those tubs…I have two of them just like that…Yea for you!!
Hope your parents get better…Ouch that poor dear.
Enjoy this next season of ball. I have not been able to get into anything since the Olympics. That was such a high for me.

  7. I’m so glad you dad is okay. That is great news. And your mom needs to use her cromack. I hope she is okay. Love the photo and have fun tonight. How fun.

  8. That picture is all kinds of awesome. I have boxes of pics in frames, this is such a brilliant idea!!!! I am going to steal it. Not only will it take up less space, they will be out of boxes so people can see them again!

Good news about your dad and hoping your mom is doing well.

  9. Moving the pictures into a folder is a great idea, Ellen — now, don’t tell me that picture of you and Mr. B is going to the folder too. That one needs to be re-framed and displayed!!! Glad to hear that your Dad is out of the hospital. Now, I will pray that the Lord will keep your Mom “sure-footed”! πŸ˜‰

    Have a great weekend.
