A Thrifting She Will Go…

While in good ole Washington State I never miss the chance to go thrifting. Over the weekend I added some goodies to my red, white and blue stash that I like to use for Memorial Day Celebrations and Fourth of July celebrations. The Revere pewter candlesticks were a bargain. I got the pair for $3.00. All in all these items cost me $7.68!

I’m feeling a lot better. Thank you for all your kind comments. I’m still keeping up the Ibuprofen and yes M.M. I make sure and drink a lot of water with the pills and I never take them on an empty stomach! After a long weekend of making several meals which included home made potato salad, Butterscotch peanut butter Rice Krispy bars, banana bread, egg scrambles, pelemeni, strawberry parfaits, and having finally vacuumed, dusted, and windexed and washed everything, not to mention moving everything back into the basement now that the new tile floor is finished…I announced that all remaining meals will be eaten out starting with Tuesday night’s dinner. Dear had no objections to my proclamation.

Photobucket is holding all my photos that I stored on their site from 2007-2015 hostage replacing them with ugly grey and black boxes and asking for a large ransom to retrieve them. It is a slow process to go through all my posts deleting the ugly boxes.

  1. ellen, you do have the best thrifty luck of anyone i know! i had a set of revereware candlesticks just like those- they were a wedding present from i-have-no-idea-whom. they got lost when we broke up the house, but looking at yours gave me some fond memories♥

glad to hear you’re feeling better dear!

  2. You go Ellen B.! Meals out are always a treat, but then your meals always look so delicious that I’m surprised there was less protestation.
Your poor body must be killing you! Maybe today would be a great day to rest?

Your thrifting adventure really paid off. I never find bargains like that!

    Have a wonderful day!

  3. I bow to the Queen of Thrifting! Those pewter candlestick holders are the best!

Enjoy the adventure of finding new restaurants and visiting the old standbys.

  4. I wonder how it would go over if I made the declaration of eating the rest of thisweeks meals out? LOL. I should give it a go!

Love your red, white and blue finds.

  5. Look at all those wonderful goodies, Ellen! I can’t wait to see them in action in your tablesetting pictures!

  7. Hi Ellen B.,

Are you getting any rest today? I sure do hope so! Any way, you asked about that old thing that’s laying out in my backyard and what it is…I have no idea! A typewriter stand sounds good though. I brought it home from work about 5 years ago and its been in hubby’s garage. I always thought it was a rolling medical stand since it came out of a medical office. What ever it is I’ve fallen in love :0!

I hope the rest of your day is a peaceful one.

    xoxo Cori G.

  8. My goodness….well I think a rest is in order. I am dizzy just keeping up with your normal activities to tell you the truth….always on the run you are! Great buys….what is it about Washington State and thrifting. I do declare that my dear sister did not go a ‘thrifting’ until she became a good ol’ American and guess what…she moved to Washington! Grin!
