He Giveth More Grace ~ Hymn

He giveth more grace as our burdens grow greater,
He sendeth more strength as our labors increase;
To added afflictions He addeth His mercy,
To multiplied trials he multiplies peace.

When we have exhausted our store of endurance,
When our strength has failed ere the day is half done,
When we reach the end of our hoarded resources
Our Father’s full giving is only begun.

His love has no limits, His grace has no measure,
His power no boundary known unto men;
For out of His infinite riches in Jesus
He giveth, and giveth, and giveth again.

words: Annie J. Flint (1866-1932)

We are just wrapping up a study on grace in my Friday morning Bible study and this song really reinforces what we’ve been re-learning about God’s amazing grace.

  1. Good morning Ellen B.,
    I’m glad to know that your family is all safe and were able to stay in their own homes.
    Grace…a truly amazing thing. My pastor always says that God gives us MORE then we can handle. That way He is able to work in our lives and we know its His Spirit at work and not ourselves.
    I love this graphic!
    Have a Blessed Sunday!

  2. Good morning Ellen! Like many others I have watched the news of the fires with horrer, how terrible and sad for so many people. But so glad you family is safe. I like the song, beautiful words. Speaking of beautiful, Laura was here hanging out with us last night (your DIL, our wonderful daughter) while Josh was hanging out with some guys. Boy we love those two alot!

    I always enjoy the pics you have posted…hoping that the fires don’t do more damage to more homes; can’t even imagine how hard that would be to have to pick up whatever you can grab and run from your house.

    Lots of prayers for those people!

    Have a great day!

  3. What a wonderful hymn. I need to go through my hymn books and see if it is in any of them. Thank you for sharing it. Most of the time I don’t think we’ve even scratched the surface on understanding grace.

  4. What a lovely hymn – thanks for sharing it, Ellen.

    I was reminded of this verse: “He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?” Romans 8:32
