ABC’s of the Word ~ Instruction

We are up to the letter I and I’m choosing to share some scripture on the subject of Instruction.

Proverbs 1:7 ~ “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.”

Proverbs 4:13 ~ “Keep hold of instruction; do not let go; guard her, for she is your life.”

Proverbs 8:10 ~ “Take my instruction instead of silver, and knowledge rather than choice gold, for wisdom is better than jewels, and all that you may desire cannot compare with her.”

Proverbs 10:17 ~ “Whoever heeds instruction is on the path to life, but he who rejects reproof leads others astray.”

Proverbs 23:12 ~ “Apply your heart to instruction and your ear to words of knowledge.”

Romans 15:4 ~ “For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.”

  1. WOW—this is great. I’m so thankful that God is using this grand idea of His. Each week I want to delve into the chapters holding the precious Words that each of you share. Thanks Ellen

  2. I love it! What a motivation to spend more time in His precious word and a warm reminder of where ALL the answers to life’s questions, big and little, are found!

  3. Good morning Ellen B.,
Wow! What great instructional passages. Proverbs is filled with such nuggets of truth. 8 v. 10 is my favorite. Did you just get that new Bible and do you like it? Would you recommend it?
    Have a great day.
    🙂 Cori G.

  4. These are all such great verses! So true, “fool’s despise wisdom and instruction”. (It’s true but sad, so many intelligent people in the world, but they don’t want to hear God’s wisdom and instructions to us)

I just posted my verse today. I got behind on everything this week! I hope you’ll stop by and see me!

    Margie 🙂
