Disneyland Anaheim

On Wednesday I drove out to Anahiem to meet up with my daughter Katie, her boyfriend Ben, and some of my family. It’s been 10 years since I had been to Disneyland and boy was I in for a surprise.

My sister Kathy and I spent a lot of time sitting in the shade and watching people. I enjoy people watching at Disneyland…

Katie and Ben ~ Debbee, Kathy, and Melissa ~ Katie resting her poor aching feet (this was her and Ben’s 2nd full day at the Park), Melissa and Katie in their traditional Disney photo.

Some of the fun noisy rides we went on using the Fast Track Passes.

The music and entertainment at Disneyland really sets a great mood in the Park. Sometimes it even drowns out the poor exhausted babies and toddlers who are crying…

The colors in the lagoon where the Submarine Ride is were calling to me. I guess it’s called the Finding Nemo Ride now.

You gotta smile when you see the great colors on the tea-cups and lanterns. I so enjoy this Fantasyland setting!

Disneyland always has beautiful fresh flowers that match the seasons in all their planters. I loved these beautiful pinks and purples. They were already beginning to add pumpkins in Frontierland getting ready for Fall.

Don’t you just love this little guy? There are so many things to see at Disneyland.

We left the Park and headed to Downtown Disney to meet up with my sister Lana for Dinner at Naples. Our newlywed nephew and niece met us, too. Again Lana treated us all to dinner. They all went back to the park after dinner but my sister Kathy and I headed home. I made it back home at 9:45 and I was exhausted. I’m still dragging today. After I fed them a hearty breakfast, Ben and Katie headed to Magic Mountain today to tackle the roller coasters. Ahh, youth. This old gal on the other hand is just sitting around watching the Olympic Soccer games today hoping for a second wind soon.

  1. You got some great pictures! I L-O-V-E the one with the owl and the castle!!!

We had a great evening – we did Matterhorn, teacups, pirates and watched the fireworks. Fun, Fun Fun!

  2. Well, you survived – and had some terrific photos to boot! Thanks for the view of Disneyland. I haven’t been in just over 21 years. Are those pink and lavender lisianthus? So pretty.

My niece called them lisianthus so I’m thinking between you and her you’ve correctly identified them. They are crepe looking…

  3. Oh, did you hang around for the Dapper Dan’s. There one of my favorites! And a chocolate covered pretzel… did you have one of those? They are to die for. Well, maybe not die but they are REALLY GOOD!

Hi Cori, Yes I really enjoyed the Dapper Dan’s. Did not have a chocolate covered pretzel…

  4. Hi Ellen,

It’s hard for me to pick a favorite shot…. but I really like the owl and the teacups! 🙂

I love the flowers too. It’s funny how one thing I do NOT remember seeing in Disneyland when I went 14 years ago was the flowers (and vegetations). I guess I was young back then… but in my “old” age – I am starting to appreciate things like plants, hehe!

    Have a wonderful night!

  5. You’ve got some shots I’ve never seen before-the cars, the owl, and the cute character over the Naples door! I’m surprised my little group of 3 were not there….they must have been someplace pretty important not to be with the fam. at Disney!

  6. looks like fun, never been to Disneyland, but we honeymooned at Disneyworld Fla. It was fabulous, but I ended up wilted by lunch each day and we spent most afternoons napping then in the hotel pool. 🙂

  7. oh I wanted to tell you. My darling Subvet (who gets motionsick easily) took me on the teacups and spun me to my heart’s content!! TALK ABOUT LOVE! (he kept his eyes closed)

  8. What great pictures! You make me want to go Disneyland! I have a friend who works in the landscaping department there. I’ll have to tell her you mentioned the flowers. 🙂

  9. I guess it’s a good thing we didn’t walk today.

Disneyland is both exhilirating and exhausting. I think we’ll wait a few years to take The New Boy to D-land. His Auntie The Princess loves it and is already planning his first trip!

  10. I feel your exhaustion, Ellen! I lived 30 minutes from Disney Orlando for many years and alsways had a resident’s annual pass. I can’t imagine how many days I spent there with guests from out of town. I could be a tour guide! My only regret is that I had such terrible cameras back then. My photos are just awful for the first 30 years or so!

  11. *Happy sigh* – we went to Disneyworld way back in college days – it was wonderful. We always hoped to take the family but it is such a long distance and so expensive. My daughter Sarah is thinking about going to YWAM in Orlando – Disneyworld will be first on the list of to do’s.

  12. Your photos of Disneyland are wonderful. It has been awhile since we have been there and I think I would find many changes. I have no idea what Disney Downtown is.

Hi Kathy, Downtown Disney is a shopping and restaurant outdoor mall just outside Disneyland and California Adventure. You can exit the park and shop here or eat here at a more regular restaurant. You can also park for Downtown Disney for free for I think up to 3 hours…

  13. Great photos. My family was just at Disneyland a few weeks ago. I saw the beautiful flowers you took pictures of took some pics of my own.
