During my weekend in Seattle my sister, daughters, and I decided to stop at the Lake Washington Arboretum and to stroll through the Japanese Garden. We wanted to see the Tea House where Katie attends class every Thursday to learn the Japanese Tea Ceremony. She has her final this Thursday (today).
The Gardens are beautifully landscaped.
These photos are of the Tea House that is nestled in the beautiful surroundings of the garden.
It’s Spring so the Rhododendrons and Wisteria were in their glory.
I was so pleased to see the Wisteria in bloom.
The 4 of us were really in awe of God’s glorious creation and how He has given man the eye to plant and plan the beautiful landscape in this garden.
I hope you can sense much of the beauty through these photos.
Photobucket is holding all my photos I stored with them from 2007-2015 hostage. They have blacked out all those photos on my blog posts. OH BOTHER! I’m slowly cleaning up my posts.
I am crying over those wisteria photos.
About 17 years ago I had purpose built a
pergola coming out from a brick shed solely
to be strong enough to allow a wisteria to
grow and flower.
The original one has never flowered. I had
a fake flower in it for years and it fooled most
people. But every spring I drive around and
cry each time I see a wisteria and have people
tell me how they grow everywhere.
Mine is still growing. 3 or 4 others, bought as
expensive plants in bloom have managed to die.
I have glory vine coming from the other end of the
pergola which saves my sanity a little.
I think I am going to find the most innapropriate
place for a wisteria to grow and then plant it.
Thou shalt not envy is broken every time I see
a wisteria in flower. Sobs in Oz.

what beautiful pictures! thanks for sharing.
I don’t have a wisteria. Our very first home we planted one and it grew like the dickens but never bloomed once. . someone later told us it was probably a male plant… Oh boy.
Your pictures of spring blooming are wonderful.
Ellen, Your photos are soo beautiful. I can’t even imagine what it would be like to actually be there. I have a Wisteria tree but it hasn’t bloomed yet this year. Now I can’t wait. I hope you have a lovely day.
Absolutely gorgeous! Wow, I would love to lie in the middle of that beauty and praise God!
Simply beautiful – Ellen! The wisteria are breath-taking! Thanks for sharing.
Gorgeous gorgeous images of flowers and foliage! You’re so right about the landscaping – beautifully designed for a spectacular view wherever you are.
What a glorious time of year in Seattle!
The Japanese gardens are so very beautiful, Ellen! Thanks for sharing them with us.
I’m so excited to have found your blog. I almost went to college in Seattle many, many years ago but decided it was way too far from home here in the Midwest. But I love getting to enjoy it through your blog.
Ellen, these are breathtakingly beautiful! I wonder how many gardeners they have maintaining the garden. I’d love to have their landscaper! Incredibly beautiful! Great job capturing this glorious garden!
I absolutely adore that first photo!
So beautiful! Amazingly so. . .and now it’s on my dream list of places to visit! Thanks for sharing!
