Here’s our assignment from Angela at the Lurchers for this week.
“I’m going to make it a nice and easy Fun Monday this week. All I want you to do is take me on your favourite walk. In words or pictures. Or both of course! Tell me why it’s your favourite and point out things of interest on the way.”
My husband and I have two wonderful walks that we do early on Saturday mornings. Our walk along the beach at Emma Wood State Beach in Ventura, California.
The beauty of the Pacific Ocean, the fresh salt air, all of God’s beautiful splendor, what a wonderful stimulation for all our senses.
Then we have another choice close by. Our second favorite is in the Santa Monica Mountains that are in our backyard. In Sycamore Canyon we have several hiking trails with different elevations to choose from. On the Scenic Trail we again are able to see the Pacific Ocean when we reach the top…
We enjoy both of these walks/hikes because we are generally all alone going as early as we do. It’s quiet except for the birds and the crashing of the waves. We see different and interesting plants and wildlife.
It’s great to get away from the neighborhood and into the “wild”.
For more Fun Monday visit Angela at the Lurchers.
And look what Anni gave me today. I love her graphics and this one is so darn cute! Thanks Hootin Anni!
Photobucket is holding all my photos from 2007-2015 hostage and they have blacked them all out. I’m slowly working at restoring my posts without their help. Such a tiresome bother!
I have an award for you today, on my blog for Monday.
What lovely scenery (and variety) you have for your walks! Mine is pretty much ‘Dog Beach’ or the local neighborhood unless I put Molly in the car and drive somewhere first but I seldom remember to take my camera along when walking Molly. I did a ‘collage’ at Small Reflections for my Fun Monday today ;–)
Hugs and blessings,
What a beautiful walk – I love any walk on a beach – here it is the North Atlantic Ocean.
Oh wow….they are both stunning walks….and fantastic photos to illustrate it!
Beautiful scenery. Very motivating to walk with all that lovliness to look at!
Gorgeous! If I had that beach close to me, I’d be walkin’ on it every day. Beautiful, just beautiful!

Hi Ellen,
Good morning! It’s almost noon at my end. I got a late start this morning because I ended up reading a book. Now, I’d better get to work on those quilts!
What a NICE walking trails you have!!! I am definitely not an exerciser, but with trails like that…. I might take up jogging. You definitely have nice sceneries in CA!!! Thanks for sharing!
Have a great day.
Years ago, we camped at Emma Woods, we lived in Long Beach at the time. Thanks for the memories.
wonderful scenery!! I was watching the news and seeing that California has fires again .. hoping they are on the other end the state.
What a great walk! I could even hear the waves, and the birds … Thanks!!!
And thx for having coffee with me too!
such beautiful walking trails….they both look very inviting to me….thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed the walk through IKEA and I hope you don’t mind this “general” comment, I’m running out of time for individual answers.
How clever to arrange your photos in a panorama (square, that is). Makes it so easy to appreciate your path. In the first square what is that wonderful plant in the lower left corner?
Breath taking! How far is Santa Monica from Santa Ana? I went to Santa Ana and Orange County (2 different trips about 18-19 years ago. I was amazed at the view and got to enjoy Long Beach while I was there.
What a beautiful couple of walks. I love the beach one, especially the cute sea gull pic in the middle, and the scenic trail is definitely true to its word.
You have my two favorites, water and mountains. 🙂
Love em! Thanx for all the awesome views!
The collages are breathtaking…they take on a life of their own. Beautiful. Sorry I’m just now out and about with my hiking boots on.
