ABC Wednesday ~ H is for…

ย H is for Hiking

We went on a Hike early Saturday morning. We drove west to Pacific Coast Highway and South to Pt. Mugu State Park. We started at the Sycamore Canyon Campground and made sure to read the warning signs. We spotted Poison Oak at the very beginning of the hike. The only animals we saw were rabbits, lizards and birds.

We decided to take the scenic trail for our hike and we were rewarded with some beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean and of the mountains of the Santa Monica coastal range.

We also were happy to spot many wildflowers.

To see the names of some of these blooms you can click here.

We are hoping to do this great hike again soon.

Photobucket is holding all my photos from 2007-2015 hostage. I’m working on updating my blog posts very slowly.

  1. I loved this!
I just ADORE wandering on a Sunday with hubby!
    Well……..ahem.wandering pictures slow, idle meanderings!

    Cough! Ahem!

Well, em we ARE talking about tottering about on a motorbike!

    LOL!

    Loved the pics.
    Dxx

  2. Hiking alongside the ocean might be the most marvelous hiking of all. Surely it’s better than driving down the coastal highway along the cliffside (though that is beautiful it is also nerve-wracking).

  3. I’ve numerous time used hiking as a keyword, but for some strange reason, I didn’t even think about it in this week’s alphabet. Oh well, I am still happy with photograph about my home town, which happens to start with H.

P.S. Looks like you had nice hike.

  4. OH, this is the 2nd HIKE I”ve come across today! This is Absolutely Beautiful! What a wonderful area for hiking…and your pics are LOVELY! Well Done!!

  5. The wildflowers are beautiful. We used to live near LA, now we are in British Columbia. My daffodils are just starting to come out. Our wildflowers will be coming later.
