Surfers Point ~ Ventura, California

A HIGH SURF ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 AM PST SUNDAY. SURF 6 TO 8 FEET WILL PERSIST ALONG EXPOSED WEST FACING SHORES.
62°F at 2:00 pm

We took a short drive up the 101 Fwy to Ventura on Saturday morning. We parked at Seaside Park and started our walk along the beach at Surfers Point.

We walked along the Promenade.

The Surf was exceptional today and there were tons of surfers and photographers waiting to catch the perfect wave.

The waves were so much more dramatic than my photos can show.

We were on the pier for these shots. The foam tells the story of the power of these waves.

Some of the waves were high enough to spray onto the pier.

The calm before the next set of waves. This is on the Ventura Pier looking back on Ventura.

Photobucket is holding all my photos I stored with them from 2007-2015 hostage. They have blacked out all those photos on my blog posts. OH BOTHER! I’m slowly cleaning up my posts.

  1. ellen, we were watcing the surfing on the news. What fantastic waves. I’m happy to see these things and not feel one speck of jealousy to not be in that water. BRrr.

    Beautiful pictures!!

  2. Awesome photos Ellen. The bright blue sky and the blue water, I can almost hear the surf. The sun came out here an hour ago but it looks different in So Cal, brighter, higher in the sky or something.

    Have a good weekend.

  3. Ellen, this is a beautiful tour – thank you. And I noticed the Channel Islands faintly on the horizon too. I’ve never been to the Ventura beach or pier….what a wonderful place to visit.

  4. Ellen … your killing me with these pictures of the ocean…I’m ready to hop on a plane and come out….

It’s taken awhile but I’ve caught up on reading your blog and probably posted more comments than I’ve ever done…
