More August Fun on Friday

Friday morning the 16th of August we had Greg’s famous Swedish Pancakes for breakfast at Our Country Bungalow.

Our daughters in law were twinsies without planning it.

The three of us took off to do a little shopping while the guys stayed at our country bungalow. We couldn’t resist trying on these beauties off the sale rack. They did not come home with us but gave us a chuckle.

While we were gone the guys and Addy did some clearing of fallen branches on our property for which I was very thankful.

They finished that task and decided it was time to scale the mountain behind our home. We own part of Rattlesnake mountain and it was fun to hear about this trek up the mountain using game trails to traverse the steepness. Here is the team of four who took the climb!

Here are the views looking back down on our home.

It was fun to see these views without having to make the climb!

Friday night we enjoyed hamburgers at the Colville kids’ home.

Earlier a couple chickens got loose and they were tracked down and put back where they belong.

A little basketball and more shenanigans before dinner.

I could have gotten my days mixed up with all these photos.

After dinner and on our way back to our home we couldn’t resist snapping these photos from their driveway.

We all wonder when that great old barn is going to collapse.

Good night, Colville.

Saturday was another good day in Colville filled with fun in the sun. That will be another post or two.

Happy last full weekend of August!

  1. Great pictures! What a beautiful family and beautiful area that you live in. You own part of a mountain- that is crazy cool! Have a wonderful weekend!

    • Maria, We didn’t know when we bought this home that the mountain was called Rattlesnake mountain. Thankfully we have not had a rattlesnake encounter since living here for 6 years now!

  2. You are right the views are spectacular!! And how cool to say “we own part of a mountain”!! I wanted to thank you for making the effort to find my blog. I’m not sure why it was hard to find. I do leave my site link with my name etc…but, obviously, have no idea how these things work!! And I’m not super sure how “following blogs” work…but I am going to try and figure that out today! Thanks again for stopping by. I also enjoy your posts and photos – and like coming by your blog!! http://www.myashesforbeauty.com

  3. It looks as though everyone enjoyed themselves regardless of what they were doing. I love the picture of JJ going after the escaped chicken! So adorable. Looking forward to hearing about the rest of the days everyone was together!

  4. You had a wonderful and eventful Friday! Starting the day with Greg’s famous Swedish pancakes must have been a real treat. It’s always fun to see people dressed alike without planning it—those matching outfits must have brought some smiles.

Shopping and trying on fun outfits, even if they didn’t make it home, seems like a great way to spend part of the day. And it’s fantastic that the guys managed to clear fallen branches and then tackle the climb up Rattlesnake Mountain. The views from the top must have been breathtaking!

Ending the day with hamburgers and some lively activities like chasing chickens and playing basketball sounds like the perfect way to wrap up a busy day. I’m sure it was a memorable one, even if you mixed up a few details.

I appreciate your visit and comments.

I invite you to read my new blog post and let me know what you think: https://www.melodyjacob.com/2024/08/health-risks-drinking-alcohol-on-plane.html

  5. Oh, I love love love where you live! And those forest trees on the mountain!

We are almost home again. Two more days. (and yes I thought as we were passing along southern WA, so close! but yet so far!)

What fun times you have with your family! Willow

I read all comments and appreciate them.
