We put out 3 hummingbird feeders this year. We are happy to see the little hummers return. They are not back in full force yet but we are happy to watch the ones that are enjoying the feeders.
Thursday morning between six an seven a.m. we were treated to a show by a group of deer running around and hopping in our backyard. I took a video that I wish I could share.
I’m adding a quote for the day here.
I am very sure that any man of common understanding may, by culture, care, attention, and labor, make himself what- ever he pleases, except a great poet.~ Lord Chesterfield
Hope the first weekend in May is filled with lots of joy for all who visit here.

…hallelujah, what a treat.
I find it so beautiful! They are very small, aren’t they? How I would love to see them in real life. But like this, through your blog post, it’s also enjoyable. Thank you. 💻👀

Oh, I would love to attract hummingbirds to our yard! Do they like a certain place…as in, does it need to be quiet? Ha. And what do you put in your feeder – something you make or did you buy it? Enjoy all of nature’s shows!!:)
Hi Jennifer, I do not think that it needs to be quiet. We make our own hummingbird food which is a simple sugar to water ratio. It’s probably beneficial to have plants in your yard that attract them, too.
So nice when the hummers return!
Yay for the hummers! Mine have returned too. Great photo.
Take care, have a wonderful weekend.
I love seeing the hummingbirds return every summer! I will have to get my feeder out soon.
Great to have hummingbirds in your back yard. I would spend hours watching them 🙂 B x
It’s always exciting to see the return of the hummers! I usually see them here right around our son’s birthday, April 17th, and this year, right on time, I saw one! Haven’t seen them lately though. Its been pretty chilly! Hopefully all the cold weather hasn’t hurt them.
Happy May !! I miss having bird feeders — thank you for showing yours! Hummers are the best visitors — so special (and the only way to ever get a picture of them is on a feeder). Sorry to learn about your computer problems — such a bummer (I read back a bit to catch up )
I so love these happy little feathered ones flying around!
