This Ground Hog showed up on our property this week. We have never seen one in our yard before. Our neighbor also said he has never seen ground hogs in our little stretch of homes.
After reading about the ‘colonies’ these critters are associated with we decided to send it on it’s way.
It was fun to watch for a day…
Robins have been quite active around here building nests. The Swallows are busy with their nests in the bird houses around our property. The birds are entertaining and we welcome them.
Welcome to July! We don’t have plans for the weekend but we will be attending a Monday 4th of July gathering with several folk from church. Do you have plans?
Hello,
Love the cute Robin. We have ground hogs in our yard, they can mow down flowers in a matter of minutes.
Take care, enjoy your day! Have a happy 4th of July weekend.
…our son has a serious problem with groundhogs at his home.
Yes, very good to send him on his way. I have sent many on their way. I was quite horrified to learn that my son was taking them and releasing them on the end of John’s former property, which was right across the street from a large farm where they were growing lots of crops. šµāš« Not the best location, but thankfully, they were no longer here.
We weren’t as kind as your son…wink wink.
Iāve never seen a groundhog so that was a first for me. Love your robins too. Making curtains is on my agenda for my son and daughter-in-law and lots of kitten cuddles of course. Lovely to hear your future travel news. Fingers crossed all goes to plan. B x
Thank you, Barbara. Those kitties are so cute!
I havent seen one before, except in a film!
Good decision…to send him on his way! Our Canada Day plans mostly revolve around farm work…but hopefully we can end the day with some celebratory food and fun. Have a great weekend!
We are currently looking for a ground hog that my husband saw a few days ago. It was close to our garden. You were wise to send it on its way. We don’t have any plans other than a cookout with the two of us for the 4th…and taking time to remember those who gave of themselves that we can enjoy the freedom we have.
Hello Dianna, it was a surprise to see this critter and also good to be able to make sure it would not return. Hope you find yours! Happy 4th, we will be celebrating all the good things especially about our freedoms!
Haven’t seen any ground hogs on our property but see them on the road to town. Have seen them pop down into their home when we drive by.
No plans for us.
Cute little critter but no, a colony would not be good. I enjoyed your robin. We have one who visits every day. Happy 4th of July Ellen š
I know that groundhogs are destructive, but they’re sooo cute. (I know, I know.) Ron would definitely be on the “send it on its way” team.
Groundhogs? I didn’t know they came in ‘colonies.’ Probably good you moved him along. Our middle daughter and granddaughter are spending the 4th with friends so we just might have smore’s around the campfire tomorrow evening. Then on Monday the rest of us will go to the parade and then play games at our house while having our traditional red, white, and blue, jello and whipped cream dessert! I hope you have a great weekend Ellen!
