The concrete went in on October 16th. It was sealed on October 17th. After the seal dried I took these photos.
The roof ridge cap was a pain as it took a while to figure out how to anchor the body harness so Dear could work with that safety net while on the steel roof. Finally this past Sunday with the help of our son they managed to get the 4 sections of ridge cap installed and drilled onto the roof.
The view from below of the first section of the ridge cap in place with three more to go.
You can understand my relief for Dear to have this part of the job behind him.
Thank you to Dan who made the work go smoothly and quicker than having Dear working on his own.
Little by little it’s coming together. Today he is working on installing the windows. Soon the steel side panels can be installed. Still hoping to have it enclosed before our next big snow!
That is certainly a big space!
36ft x 36ft!
Hello,
So glad progress is being made, the shop looks huge. Take care! Have a happy new week!
…what a HUGE project.
What a great space Greg will have when he’s done! It’s looking terrific already. I bet he’s excited and pleased about the progress.
The shop is looking great! Hooray for progress! And, yes indeed, I can relate to your relief that this part of the project is done!
Oh wow – that looks amazing and so spacious!!! The grandchildren’s tricycles and scooters will work fabulously in there – wink, wink! Now you need a vintage car and trailer to park in there. Incredible accomplishment by Dear and Co.
Haha Rosella, he does have a vintage Willy’s that is in pieces that will hopefully be put back together in there.
I frightens me to see men on a roof, so I know you are relieved to have your Dear down below! What a great big project.
That sure is a nice big shop. Looks terrific!!
Ellen – this is an impressive building. I can completely understand why you would be on pins and needles while your hubby is doing this dangerous work. We only have one spouse, right?
