Today is August 27th and our word is Fruit.
Proverbs 11:30 (ESV)
The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and whoever captures souls is wise.
From Paul:
“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing” – John 15:5
From Maristella:
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.”
Galatians 5:22-23 | NIV
From Vera:
““Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes nor figs from thistles, are they? So every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. So then, you will know them by their fruits.”
Matthew 7:15-20 NASB
From Happy One:
Those who are planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God.
They shall still bear fruit in old age; they shall be fresh and flourishing,
To declare that the Lord is upright; He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.
If you have a verse or verses share them in the comments and I’ll add them here.
Speaking of fruit here is a teaser from a morning of Cherry Picking a while back. I’ll share more when I get the okay.
It was a toss between this and one in Galatians. But this is the one I need to keep remembering: “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing” – John 15:5
Paul, we all need to stay close to this truth. Thank you for adding this verse to the challenge.
What a cute photo! The cherries must be delicious. Take care, enjoy your day!
Eileen, the funny thing is that those cherries were very sour but he was so into the novelty of picking them and popping them in his mouth that he didn’t care. (We did have to pit them first!)
…what a face.
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.”
Galatians 5:22-23 | NIV
How cute! Have a lovely day!
Thank you Maristella! Hope your day is a good one, too!
Sweet photo! A keeper. Darling boy with the story all over his chin. 🍒
Love,
Vee
Thank you Vee. He’s my favorite boy.

That’s a powerful section of scripture, Vera. Thank you!
Awww that is a sweet photograph.
All the best Jan
Lots of good ‘fruit’ verses. I chose the same one as Maristella.
Cute photo!!!
Sweet photo of your grand! It’s peaches around here just now.
A verse about fruit came to mind, but it seems to need the surrounding verses, so excuse the longer passage:
The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree, He shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
Those who are planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God.
They shall still bear fruit in old age; they shall be fresh and flourishing,
To declare that the Lord is upright; He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.
No apologies needed! Thank you for sharing this one, Cheryl!
Ellen – thanks for your visit to my blog today. I lean to the Galatians verses, and it was interesting to compare the words in the NIV and KJV. I like some of both; I am certainly working on “forbearance”. Enjoy your weekend!
