****If you are here for Wednesday Hodgepodge please scroll down to the next post.
Today is August 26th and our word today is Mist. I picked another more obscure word here.
2 Peter 2:15-17 (Reading the whole chapter would be better but here is a little run up to the verse with mist in it)
15 Forsaking the right way, they have gone astray. They have followed the way of Balaam, the son of Beor, who loved gain from wrongdoing, 16 but was rebuked for his own transgression; a speechless donkey spoke with human voice and restrained the prophet’s madness.
17 These are waterless springs and mists driven by a storm. For them the gloom of utter darkness has been reserved.
From my sister Vera:
I have wiped out your transgressions like a thick cloud and your sins like a heavy mist. Return to Me, for I have redeemed you. Isaiah 44:22
From Paul at To Be A Man After God’s Own Heart:
Now no shrub had yet appeared on the earth[a] and no plant had yet sprung up, for the Lord God had not sent rain on the earth and there was no one to work the ground, 6 but streams[or mist] came up from the earth and watered the whole surface of the ground… I love these verses from Genesis 2:5-6
From Happy One:
and every herb of the field before it grew:
for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth,
and there was not a man to till the ground.
and watered the whole face of the ground.
If you have a verse share it in the comments and I’ll add it here. Thank you!
Now no shrub had yet appeared on the earth[a] and no plant had yet sprung up, for the Lord God had not sent rain on the earth and there was no one to work the ground, 6 but streams[or mist] came up from the earth and watered the whole surface of the ground… I love these verses from Genesis 2:5-6, because it reminds me that God wants to co-work with us!
Funnily enough I wrote a blog post about it, this morning! 😀
Thank you for these verses Paul. I’ll have to click over to your post on these verses…
…a misty morning is a delight!
I have wiped out your transgressions like a thick cloud and your sins like a heavy mist. Return to Me, for I have redeemed you. Isaiah 44:22
I’ll be posting the Genesis verses too later but in the KJV.
You don’t really know about tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for only a short while before it vanishes. James 4:14
Anneliese, thank you for sharing that verse.
