My Winter Views…

Many people in our new corner of the world have said that we are having a mild winter and that we haven’t had enough snow. We are happy to get a mild introduction since this is our first winter living here. In the future I’ll post our Spring views and our summer views.

All these trees are part of our front yard. I haven’t counted them all yet. We have many more in our backyard.

Here comes the snow plow. We are really happy to have all these trees between us and the road. We are also grateful that we live on a road that is regularly plowed during the week. It’s a county road and does not get plowed on the weekend.

This was the very first person we’ve ever seen walking along the road. Not a great road for walking.

This is a side view to the north of us.

Outside our kitchen and dining room windows.

I’ll post my backyard views soon.

The last couple days we’ve started out at about 12 degrees and have stayed below freezing throughout the day. Last night was so clear and it was amazing to see stars, so many stars. That is one of the wonderful things about living in the country without lots of street lights. I’m still waiting to see an owl. We heard one a couple mornings ago.

What’s going on in your corner of the world?

  1. Wonderful views! It’s good to have the trees for shelter, but it’s also great to be able to see right across into the distance as well as watch neighbours and other transport going by.

  2. Oh my, such a beautiful landscape. It must be such a joy to look out upon the snow laden trees, especially, while your tucked into your warm home.

  3. Absolutely beautiful, Ellen. I love how the windows are in your kitchen! Just lovely and allows you to see so much more of what is going on outside than just one single window. I love all of the trees. I enjoyed your writing about the stars. We also live in the country and when our grandson was young and would stay with us for a week or two in the summer he always commented on how much he enjoyed staying with us because he could see all of the stars. They live in the city. 🙂

  4. Beautiful winter wonderland pictures of around you home.
I had a similar post last week. This week all the snow is gone and it is raining. Next week we will probably have the snow again. 🙂 Very changeable weather this winter!!
We get to see millions of stars here too. We lay in bed at night and see them all. Just beautiful.

  5. You have some wonderful windows in your new home with beautiful framed views of your world. It’s looking beautiful with all those whites and blue shadows. And did I read somewhere that you are expecting more? I think so. I know that my corner is as well and I am not really thrilled.
