When we (the MGCC Girls) were in Ohio our publishers brought each of us a gift of these great totes from Lands End with a personalized logo. My bag is hanging on one of our dining room chairs.
Some of the girls were at the airport together in Chicago on their way home and had a photo shoot with our new bags. I stole this photo!
When we were at a book signing at The Gospel Shop in Sugarcreek , Ohio it was fun to see our book in the new release section of the bookstore.
We had a few nice days without rain this week in the Seattle area so Dear and I took a drive to see if we could see some nice fall colors. This road above is off of Highway 20, the North Cascades Highway, near Concrete, Washington.
This week I posted this great cucumber salsa inspired by my daughter in law. You can find the easy recipe by clicking here.
We are always on the lookout for a good burger spot and we found one this past week close to home. This restaurant is called the Tipsy Cow. Good brews and good burgers.
Thankful for Bags, Books, Drives, Salsa, and a good burger.
Last night I had some bonus time with half of our kids. We went to a Sounders Soccer game together and were able to talk and get caught up. It had been awhile that we could see each other face to face with all of us going hither and yon. For the next few days Dear and I will be spending time with two more of our kids, doubly thankful.

Dear bloggy friends, I’ll be late coming around today as we are traveling across the mountains to our son and daughter in love’s home. See you tonight or early tomorrow morning….

How delightful to see your book in a bookstore! I’m so excited for you guys~ and the burger looks terrific except… how do you get your mouth around it?
A beautiful post Ellen, and wonderful memories that stay in the heart.
I can imagine all the fun you had in Ohio all together! Great post!
Those bags were a lovely gift!! I have had a Lands End bag for years; it’s so sturdy and long-lasting! The personalized label makes it extra special!
I’m sure you enjoyed your fall drive. I am ready for such a drive myself…just waiting for a little more color.
Loved your post (and the bags too)! So heart-warming.
Beautiful photos! The totes are so cute ♥
What fun. Hope you have a wonderful weekend with your family.
Congratulations on your book. The food featured here looks so delicious, my mouth is almost watering.
I love that photo of the road under those tall trees and the leaves lining it!
Enjoy your weekend!
Oh my, that hamburger does look tasty!!!
That fall photo is spectacular! It would make a nice watercolor painting. That burger and rings looks amazing! Happy Fall!
May the Lord bless you with safe travels and good memory building moments with your family this weekend!
Love the bags. Bet it’s exciting to see your book in print. I’m off to try that salsa recipe, looks good. B x
Fun to see your cookbook, I’m sure and I love those bags. Beautiful colors in your neck of the woods. The salsa looks delicious. I’ve been hamburger hungry … looking at the burger you found doesn’t help! Have a great week.
Fun to read this post with all the newsy bits and the nifty pictures. I really love the beautiful view you shared! Hope that there will be more beautiful views for October days.
sounds like it was a perfect autumn week! Congrats on the publishing of the bread book. that tote is perfect for carting library books in😀
I am going to try that salsa recipe…my husband and I have been looking for a good salsa to go with our mexican bison bowls I make…..we dont really care for store bought salsa. A good burger joint is always fun to visit! ( although we no longer eat beef, we do eat black bean burgers and bison burgers).
enjoy the rest of the autumb weekend!
Such lovely fall foliage Ellen – and yummy looking salsa and burger. You’re making me hungry! Congratulations on your new book! I am looking forward to getting it!
Especially happy that you got to send time with your kiddos even if not all at the same time.
Your salsa looks so pretty and I bet it was extra tasty with the cilantro. I never heard of cilantro paste. I will be on the lookout now.
Have a great weekend.
