…a short excursion or journey for pleasure.
Last Saturday the Bagdanov sisters had a jaunt in Washington state that took in Mt. Vernon, La Conner, Deception Pass, Coupeville, and Langley leaving the island by ferry back to the mainland in Mukilteo. Here are some photos of what we saw.
Daffodil Fields in Mount Vernon, Washington. Soon these fields will be full of tulips!
The Swinomish channel in La Conner.
Deception Pass Bridge between Fidalgo Island and Whidbey Island.
Deception Pass State park on Whidbey Island.
Saratoga Passage and Penn Cove in Coupeville on Whidbey Island where Penn Cove Mussels are famous.
Saratoga Passage in Langley on Whidbey Island.
Ready for our trip from Clinton on Whidbey Island to Mukilteo on the mainland.
On the mainland we stopped for dinner in Millcreek before we headed home to put our feet up!
Lots of posts about our sister weekend but they don’t happen very often and I have the need to document our time together. Treasured times at treasured locations in the state of Washington.
Linking up to Tuesday’s Treasures with Tom at The Backroads Traveler and J is for Jaunt with ABC Wednesday with Mrs. Nesbitt and Roger with the ABC Team.
That’s a great looking bridge & very high too. Looks like a really nice area for a walk & day out.
what a fun outting and nice time with you sister. love that daffodil field…beautiful photos!
I can’t believe the blaze of yellow daffodils in the fields! I’d love to see it in person. You got such a lovely day for your jaunt and looks like so much fun!
Enjoy your week!
It sure looks like you young gals had a treasured time together. Those daffodils are making me want to travel west! Thanks Ellen for sharing and I hope that you return soon with more treasures.
Lovely ladies, lovely flowers, edifying narrative reflecting love of humanity and love of Nature. Thank you!
I played basketball at Franklin High School in NE Los Angeles back in mid-60’s. Our coach was a wonderful man we referred to as “Wild Bill” Bagdanov.” (Not certain about the spelling, might have been Bogdanov.) Your warm comments transported me back almost 50 years, stirred up a pleasant memory of a kind man who made a positive impact on a shy, pimply-faced waif yearning for recognition and respect. Could you be related?
Mordecai Ham, Vancouver, WA
Hello Mordecai, how nice to read your comment here. I’m going to guess it was Bill Bogdanov or Bogdanoff. All my uncles have their last name spelled different from whoever wrote up my parents papers when they immigrated to the U.S. We started out in east Los Angeles and moved east to Pico Rivera and then Montebello. Glad you have pleasant memories. Not sure if we were related but probably knew of each other since the Russian community stuck together with their Russian churches. Have a great day…
And with people that you treasure! I bet you had a blast.
The photo’s are sunny….as is your story with it… let the sunshine in 😉
What lovely pictures of a Jolly Jape, you all look so happy.
Best wishes,
