Our Jaunt…

…a short excursion or journey for pleasure.

Last Saturday the Bagdanov sisters had a jaunt in Washington state that took in Mt. Vernon, La Conner, Deception Pass, Coupeville, and Langley leaving the island by ferry back to the mainland in Mukilteo. Here are some photos of what we saw.

On the mainland we stopped for dinner in Millcreek before we headed home to put our feet up!

Lots of posts about our sister weekend but they don’t happen very often and I have the need to document our time together. Treasured times at treasured locations in the state of Washington.

  1. I can’t believe the blaze of yellow daffodils in the fields! I’d love to see it in person. You got such a lovely day for your jaunt and looks like so much fun!
    Enjoy your week!

  2. Lovely ladies, lovely flowers, edifying narrative reflecting love of humanity and love of Nature. Thank you!

I played basketball at Franklin High School in NE Los Angeles back in mid-60’s. Our coach was a wonderful man we referred to as “Wild Bill” Bagdanov.” (Not certain about the spelling, might have been Bogdanov.) Your warm comments transported me back almost 50 years, stirred up a pleasant memory of a kind man who made a positive impact on a shy, pimply-faced waif yearning for recognition and respect. Could you be related?

    • Hello Mordecai, how nice to read your comment here. I’m going to guess it was Bill Bogdanov or Bogdanoff. All my uncles have their last name spelled different from whoever wrote up my parents papers when they immigrated to the U.S. We started out in east Los Angeles and moved east to Pico Rivera and then Montebello. Glad you have pleasant memories. Not sure if we were related but probably knew of each other since the Russian community stuck together with their Russian churches. Have a great day…

  3. Your corner is just gorgeous! Love the field of tulips with the mountains rising in the distance…hope that you’ll show the tulips, too. You gals need to get together more often.

  4. What a fun trip – and great to see you and your sisters have a good relationship! The daffodil fields are just gorgeous, Ellen!
