On our way to the daffodil fields during our sister weekend my sister Lana said I should turn around and go back to this church that I zoomed by. I have posted photos from this church on my blog but my sister Lana hadn’t seen it before and wanted to get a closer look and take some photos. She pointed out something that I had totally missed on my previous visits.
Fir-Conway Lutheran Church. You can read it’s history here.
She said, “did you notice the crown on the cross on top of the spire? I said “no I didn’t” and I hopped out of the car to zoom in.
How very cool is that. Jesus is my King.
The moral of the story is to keep looking up and take your sisters on more road trips!
I’m linking up to InSPIREd Sunday and Sunlit Sunday.
Oh my goodness, I LOVE this church, Ellen!! There’s nothing prettier than a white, clapboard church. I love the windows, the staircase, the shape of the steeple and belfry, and of course, the crown on the cross. Perfect symbolism.
Thanks so much for your visit and Happy (early) Spring to you! 🙂
Hugs,
Denise

Stands out
gorgeous!! i love the daffodil shot. so springy!
My cousin used to be the pastor there! Oh, for the dafs. I wish I could see them!
Beautiful church! I miss a lot of details myself. Glad that your sister has such good eyes. That was wonderful detail indeed.
She has a good eye! I love that … the cross and the crown!
What a beautiful church! It must give much joy to those attending.
Thank you for sharing and have a happy Sunlit Sunday!
This beautiful Church has obviously been well maintained. It just looks so clean & tidy. I wouldn’t have noticed the crown either. I also agree with your statement that “Jesus is my King”.
lovely church in the great setting
What a beautiful church and how nice that your sister noticed the crown. What a nice surprise!
Ellen, I always enjoy a white church and this one is a beauty with all its details. Have a wonderful Sunday.
Great moral to draw from your post! This is an awesome church and the crown at the top is just wonderful to see!
Wonderfull church.

Very nice trip. I like the church and the cross with the fallen crown, very unusual
Your sister has a good eye for the unusual. A great message in that spire.
I loved the line about needing to take your sister on more road trips! That sounds like a great plan, given she sounds like fun and is very observant.
