…Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah.
Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay
My, oh, my what a wonderful day
Plenty of sunshine headin my way
Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, Zip-a-dee-ay
Between Christmas and the New Year we had a wonderful day with plenty of sunshine in downtown Seattle. Our plan was to go to the Seattle Art Museum to see their visiting Impressionism exhibit.
There was a sign that caught my eye and made me happy. It said “please take photos”! Just as long as you didn’t use your flash photo taking was allowed.
We left the Impressionist exhibit as the crowds began to arrive and we enjoyed some other areas of the museum.
This painting above is a Monet that was new to me. The painting below is by Renoir.
Peaches on a Plate…The names of a lot of the paintings made me chuckle.
On our way to the museum we had more beautiful sunshine blue skies.
It was a beautiful day to look up at the skyscrapers!
When we go downtown we enjoy lunch at “The Met” The Metropolitan Grill, a favorite Seattle Steak house.
There were still some nice Christmas scenes we enjoyed on our walk back to the parking garage. Speaking of the parking garage we scored big time only paying $6.00 for 3 hours!
…My, oh, My what a wonderful day!
I’m linking up to ABC Wednesday started by Mrs. Nesbitt and carried on by Roger and other team members! Looks like we made it to the end of the alphabet already!
I’ve always liked that zip a dee doo dah jingle. I like enthusiasm!
Looks like a fun and interesting day. I’d like to see your part of the world.
Great use of Z, Ellen 🙂 What a pleasant surprise to be invited to photograph! While you are celebrating sunshine in Seattle, we are celebrating rain in SoCal.
How wonderful, cheering your blogpost…..
Sunshine, unimaginable right now…. overhere code red to day because of the ice everywhere and the danger that keeps in it…. hardly transportation here, schools and lots of stores closef etc
Thank you for posting for the last letter of the alphabet and the first of this new year. Wish you lots of fun with our meme and hope to may greet you again, next week.
Have a nice abc-day / -week

What a wonderful post! When I was teaching, I’d do a unit on Impressionism and the kids loved to experiment themselves. How long is the exhibit there for? I’d love to see it…

Leslie, it ends real soon January 10th I believe…
Nothing like a happy, sunny day! I like that other places still have some Christmas on display. I sure do. =D
Aw! What a fun outing! My mom went with a friend and loved it. Then, she organized a bunch of ladies to take a shuttle down to Seattle to see The Sound of Music. I’m so proud of her.
You have a lot of lovely things to see where you live, Ellen.
Thank you for sharing.
My, what a WONDERFUL day!

What a great day, – sunshine, blue sky and all those beautiful paintings. Thanks for sharing.
What a great Zip-a-dee-doo-dah day…and a fine way to take advantage of that time between Christmas and New Year’s Day. An art museum is such a treat!
Any day in downtown Seattle is a wonderful day, as far as I’m concerned, but admittedly it would make it a lot more zip a dee doo dah not to get rain-soaked in between all the wonderful places to see! Nothing as beautiful as a blue sky day in a place where those don’t happen every day, especially in December!! So cool the Museum encouraged pictures.
haven’t heard this since since 1977 when I was in Canada watching US TV.
Oh YES! What a wonderful day!
That was generous of the museum to allow photo taking. Thanks for sharing a few of the paintings. Someone definitely knows how to pour a Guinness. 🙂
