Signs of Christmas

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas here at this old house.

We are slowly getting things together for Christmas. I’m happy to say that our Christmas cards with letter and photo are on their way today. The sad thing is that the envelopes did not have enough glue on them to seal properly and I had to buy envelope sticker seals to seal them up properly. Sheesh. Next time I buy cards I’ll open the box up and check the envelopes…

Do you still send Christmas cards in the mail?

I’m linking up to signs, signs hosted by Lesley!

Photobucket is holding all my photos from 2007-2015 hostage on their site. All my photos that I stored and uploaded from that site are now big ugly black and grey boxes with a message to pay big bucks to get them restored to my blog. It will take me a long time to restore thousands of posts.

  1. Things are looking festive and lovely at your house!!

Don’t you breathe a big sigh of relief when all of those cards are mailed?! I usually send Christmas cards in the mail, but this year could be the first time in 37 years that I don’t! I really want to do it, but I have not had time to search for cards (I am really picky about cards) and time is ticking by.

    • Cheryl, I think with all that has been going on this Fall you are justified to skip this year for sending cards! I do breathe a huge sigh of relief when they go into the post box!

  2. What a beautiful focal point! Sometimes I send cards and sometimes I just don’t get to it. Unlike Cheryl, I am not picky about cards. I am still using up the stash of years of my cards, my mother’s cards, and even my grandmother’s.

  3. Hi Ellen, I love seeing the “signs of Christmas” in your home! Your decorations are so festive and sweet — love them all! I’m still working on things here; getting sick at Thanksgiving really put me behind. Yes, I do still send Christmas cards through the mail; many don’t do it anymore, but I find it meaningful to send and receive cards at Christmas time.

Blessings to you and have a good week.

    Hugs,

    Denise

  4. Merry Christmas Ellen! What cute little Christmas angels. Wishing you and yours all the best at this season and throughout 2016. It’s amazing how quickly 2015 has zipped by. This year my Christmas cards are all in the mail in plenty of time. It’s such a festive thing and a nice way to greet friends and family as we celebrate Christ’s birth, I think. And it is also fun choosing the next year’s cards in the after-Christmas sales. I love browsing through all the Christmas card artwork, don’t you?

  5. Very pretty and festive decorations around your house, Ellen. Isn’t it fun to open the boxes and see decorations that have enhanced the holiday every year? I am trying hard not to add any new decorations to the mix each year as I have so many.

I do send out Christmas cards every year, but I’m late this year. I hope to get a good photo of all four of my grandchildren together this weekend to use as this year’s card.

Thank you for your prayers for my eye surgery and healing–I am so thankful for my skilled doctor and surgeon.
