This fence that runs a mile and more to the entrance of Camp Lejeune Marine Base in Jacksonville, North Carolina is filled completely full of welcome home signs before every homecoming of Marines from their deployments. I left Jacksonville before our son in law’s homecoming so I didn’t get the fence full and overflowing but you can get the idea. It brings tears to my eyes!
With Memorial Weekend coming up and the timely return of our Son-in-law we will be thinking of all that those who serve our country have endured and we will remember their sacrifice this Memorial Day more than ever. The center of this next collage is a photo of our daughter Katie and our son-in-law Andrew at homecoming on May 17th!
Happy Memorial Day Weekend to all my bloggy friends in the U.S.A.
bless him, and all those that serve – and all the families that worry for their safe return.
thank you for linking in with this very timely post!
Ellen…I have seen these fences and i think they are so wonderful! We were on our way to the beach a few years ago and went through Jacksonville, These are the BEST kind of fences!
That is quite possibly the most beautiful fence I have seen today. I am glad that they allow the Welcome Home signs to be placed.
I love all the signs that adorn our military fences. Wonderful news of a happy homecoming. My SIL just left for 6 months…
That is a neat thing to help greet the men/women returning home. Thanks for sharing.
A truly wonderful and timely post.
What a wonderful way to Welcome them Home! So, so thankful that Andrew and Katie are together again. Wishing you all a very special Memorial Day!
Truly wonderful.
I’m sure there are many lump-in-the-throat moments at the base this week. The photo of Katie and Andrew is a keeper!
Happy Memorial Day to you!
A different style fence that wish we did not have to have. Veryinteresting.
Aw, that is so nice to see Ellen. What a great way to greet the returning soldiers. Enjoy your long holiday weekend with your family and especially your son-in-law being home! Blessings, Pam
Oh, there’s nothing more exciting and happy than a homecoming, Ellen! So glad Andrew is safely home.
