What a week we’ve had in Seattle. Here are my favorites in no particular order.
1. Enjoying our home team winning the Super Bowl! There’s something so rich about unbridled joy.
2. Being able to replace our older dishwasher with a new one installed without a hitch.
3. Some clear skies albeit quite chilly for us here in Western Washington. We were in the teens today and we never made it over freezing on our hill. It’s so dry and cold that my first touch on light switches and my computer buttons sends a little shock through my fingers…”electric”.
4. Hearing some good news from Andrew in Afghanistan is always a favorite.
5. Talking to my pop and hearing hope in his voice. We bought him a recliner that he is really enjoying and I found this photo from the late 1960’s of him in a recliner that makes me smile. This photo was taken on Christmas day in the afternoon after our lunch and before we headed back to Sunday night services…
What are your favorites this week?

I watched the Superbowl last Sunday too. The first one I’ve seen in a decade. It was a joy to watch how well the Seahawks played. Your unbridled joy photo made me smile. My group was rooting for the other team so there was NOT unbridled joy the whole game.
Hurray for new appliances that go in per the instruction manual!
Hearing good news from my kiddos is always a fave too. But hearing good news from your son who is in Afghanistan is even cooler. I am praying that he and his platoon (group or whatever it is called) stay safe.
Have a great week, Ellen.
You’ve indeed had a great week! Your dad has always enjoyed a recliner! So cute.
A great week indeed!!! Love the vintage picture of your pop – noticing the hairstyles around the table π Have a wonderful weekend dear Ellen – stay warm.
Well we watch Downton Abbey here so no super bowl for us. Plus….just don’t get into it but am happy that your team won. I was kinda rooting for the Seahawks even though I’m a patriots fan of course π (hubby from boston). Actually i can’t stand football and really only like baseball if i’m watching it live. LOVE that retro pic of your dad!! have a great weekend
Congratulations on your team winning! I can imagine the response!
Congratulations on the new dishwasher, too – glad it fit in the allotted space with no problem.
Glad you heard from Andrew – a joy, I’m sure. Love that photo of your dad. My husband strikes that same pose sometimes. π
I like that dishwasher the best. It looks so futuristic… fits right in your kitchen decor. π
Who’d have thought you’d have such a theme this week — fun π I like the look of your dishwasher, all sleek and tidy. Hope it lasts a long time. Well, you know where I was on Super Sunday. We were all wondering how the game went but no one on the tour ever checked their phones for updates, even the guys!
Glad your team won!
I love the look of your new dishwasher.
I’m glad you had a good report from Andrew in Afghanistan. I hope he can come home soon.
Love retro pictures! It’s always fun to look back at the styles of the day, both in fashion and in home decor.
Go team! Nice new dishwasher. Glad installation went well. I’m always a little nervous when it comes to that. Clear skies are lovely but around here that may just well mean that’s it even colder without that “blanket” of cloud to help hold any heat in. It’s been bitter cold all week here, with wind chills making it even worse. Haven’t had any shocks though. So glad that Andrew had some good news. And I love that pic of your Dad in the reclining chair. Brings back memories of my own Dad.
