Back to the Palace with some of my favorite views before we move on to the Vicar’s Close…
Oh my aching back! I managed to mow and rack up the current leaves in the yard on Tuesday. Everything looks so nice until the next wind blows through and deposits more leaves in our yard. Our apple, pear, Chinese flame tree and our neighbor’s maple still have enough leaves to make a few messes before we move on to not needing to mow the lawn again till Spring. Do you live in a climate where you mow all year long or do you get the winter off, too?

Beautiful place! I love the way the garden wall looks standing so beautifully. Interesting about the underground river…it might make me nervous.
Hope that your back is doing better. Yes, we get the winter off, and, thanks to an industrious neighbor who knows that those leaves came from his trees, I hardly have any raking to do. My back is so wonky that I am truly grateful.
Wow, I love this palace, such beautiful gardens. I am so thankful for a riding mower. I used to use our push mower but wowza…too much for our large lot now days. I am so thankful to live with all 4 seasons. Giving thanks for all these gloriously colored leaves right now.
What a beautiful place to walk – so many inviting paths and the palace itself is understated and very appealing to me. I also love the wall with the Gothic(?) windows in it. So majestic!

Ellen, I don’t know how you pulled yourself away from all these picture perfect places. Of course they are probably quite chilly in winter but gosh the design elements could keep one warm with admiring.
