Nests

nests-floorsNot only has our nest seen some upheaval but the nest a little bird built in one of our arborvitae was upturned by something. So sad for the bird. Our upheaval will have a good result.

On Thursday our wood flooring will be delivered. On Friday we’ll move the refrigerator to our living room and the island to our deck. On Saturday major prep work will be done and then next Tuesday the new floors are scheduled to go in over a 3 day period. Then we’ll move everything back in place on the wood floor areas before we have to move everything out of our bedrooms for the new carpeting. August is really going to be a lovely month of new calm with everything back in place on new floors!

So that’s life isn’t it? The calm, the storm, the recovery and on it goes…

What stage are you in?

  1. Sorry about that little bird’s nest. But yours is looking right ready for its new flooring! Me? I’m in the giddy can-I-really-afford-to-have-floors-done let’s-look-at-more-flooring-choices stage 🙂

  2. Poor little nest and eggs. It happens. We had a horrific wind-storm last night and there are tree branches scattered all over the place. Your new flooring is going to be so wonderful! Can’t wait to see the end results.

  3. Oh my goodness, you are in the thick of it, aren’t you? New flooring will be such a treat – and new carpeting is treat for the feet!

  4. We had a mighty wind blow down one of our many bird nests….it was so sad to see those pretty blue eggs in the grass. I’m in awe of all the prep work you guys have done. We stripped out the flooring in a tiny bathroom and it was hard to get it up. Perhaps they put it down wrong but it was really glued down. Looking forward to seeing your new floors, they can make such a difference in the look of a room. Strength to you both as you power forward.

  5. It’s upsetting to see the bird’s nest in disarray. But your flooring procedure shows how organized your household is. My utmost admiration. 😉

  6. I don’t know what stage I am in…I just know that my nest keeps changing and brings along some wonderful surprises. It looks like you will be ready for the rest in August, but how refreshing to see the beauty of wood floors. I love them…would never trade them again.
Oh by the way…I do know that the Whitecaps won the Sounders…what a game…the first time in quite a few years. Remember the date Oct.7th? I am waiting to see the outcome.

  7. Your new floors will be beautiful and you’ll be very happy when the work is done! I can’t wait to see!
We are about to begin some brick work in the barn so we can install a wood stove. Its quite a process but when it’s done the room will be a fun space to enjoy with friends and family.
Ps….the Russian tea set is lovely and I understand you wanting it. 🙂

I read all comments and appreciate them.
