Gloomy with Promises…

We’ve been on the gloomy side here in the Pacific Northwest. On Sunday after church we decided it would be good to enjoy brunch out. We headed to the Kirkland Lake Washington waterfront  Beachhouse Bar and Grill. You can see the gloominess out the windows. But not to worry because what appeared on our plates was not gloomy at all.

I had the Pecan French Toast and Dear had Eggs Benedict.

It was nice to have a meal put in front of me and have a bit of relaxation after a hectic week.

That was Sunday. On Tuesday we had a wee bit of sunshine and on my way home from Costco I got to see this amazing view. A rainbow filled with promises!

Today is Wednesday and it’s a free day for me for which I am grateful.Thursday is a special day and you’ll see why with my post.  On Friday I hope to show you the star I bought wrapped in lights that Dear hung on our garage/shop. I’m waiting for a dry night so I can take a photo outside without getting my camera lens wet! On Saturday we are going to get our tree.

Hope all is well in your corner of the world…

  1. Our family has always thought we could live in the Northwest….we LOVE cloudy days. We have kind of been in a dry, SUNNY pattern for the last year or so. All our farmer friends would love to have some wet, gloomy days….it brings them joy. (c: I had a brief, elderly parent health scare that stopped all productiveness around here for a few days but I think I’m back on track to get to the city for some Christmas shopping today. Time is FLYING. I thought it would slow down once kids were grown and gone. One of my goals is to find a camera for one of our girls. There are so many options that I’m left shaking my head in wonder.

  2. It’s gloomy here in the Fraser Valley as well, where I’m working for the week. Yesterday while running from one building to another I stepped into a puddle and went up to my ankle – a soaker!
That breakfast would brighten up my day too – yummy!

  3. A double rainbow with promises! It’s spectacular and that you captured it is no small thing. Very tough to catch a rainbow! Hope that this week is calmer for you with plenty of bright spots. We have sun for the first time in days.

  4. We’ve been gloomy most days only a few days with the sun came out. Now is -3C gloomy and your gloomy sure looks better than ours. But we you’ve just reminded me to go to this pancake place in our city.

  5. Isn’t it nice that though is may be gloomy outside, there are many wonderful things happening inside….Congratulations to your new son’s promotion. And how wonderful for you to cheer him along.

  6. It’s gloomy here on Vancouver Island today again. But the kitchen is warm with the smell of baking and lights, and there are promises of more to come. Your breakfast out looks delicious. So nice to have a treat once in awhile.

  7. I’m reading this just before dinner and my mouth is watering looking at those pictures of food you enjoyed this a.m.!!! Looking forward to tomorrow’s post too.
Work is crazy this week and I’m just trying to get through it so that I can get some things done at home this weekend!! I love how your blog is snowing – that’s what it’s doing here right now!

  8. Next time I go to Costco, I am getting a rainbow, I didn’t know they carried them! 🙂
That restaurant looks great, hope they had it all cozied up and decorated on that gray day!
