A friend of ours faxed me the music and words for O Come Little Children in the Russian language. The Fax machine added an unwanted line through the music. I learned this song by heart in Russian and it’s been fun to sing it this week. We have started the Advent Season and I’ll be posting Christmas Music for the rest of the month. Some of the words in Russian translate different than the English version.

Pretty song!
A lovely song. Language is so interesting…the syntax varies so. Even if we translated word for word exaclty, it might not contain the same meaning. To be a good translator is a wonderful gift.
I love that song and it’s so amazing to see it written in the Russian language!
Such a lovely song. As a child, I learned it in German and my sister and I sang it in my grandparent’s church one Christmas Eve.
I never knew the tune was set to a Christmas song — need to teach that to Miss Baby!!
