Swansboro

Last night we headed East to Swansboro to have dinner. I tried Grouper for the first time ever and it was very good. We also had a great scallop nacho appetizer. The scallops were like butter. If you are ever in this part of North Carolina we would recommend Riverside Steak and Seafood.

We got a kick out of the swans that were part of the Christmas light decor in the city of Swansboro. They also had snowflakes and seashells.

Well I know one thing for sure that is on the agenda when I get back home. I’ll be eating less and moving more. Today we are headed to the coast to see what we can see. Today is our last full day here in North Carolina. On Saturday Dear and I drive back to Raleigh-Durham for our flights home to Seattle.

  1. You’re killing me here with those scallops. I love great seafood. Peace to you all! Thankful our Father has gone before Katie in this new place, preparing great things for her!

  2. Oh that was a wonderful meal description! We’d love the swan decorations…cool!

Enjoy your last day there (though I know it’s not really your LAST day there, just for this trip).

  3. That meal sounded sooooo good!
Enjoy your last day. You’ve done such a lot of good work, helping to set up the nest.. The next time you visit it will really be a home!

  4. Big sigh! Enjoy your last full day. You are anxious to get home. .Katie is anxious to be a homemaker and her A is anxious to enjoy some of that homemaking.
And you and Greg are still married and like it that way. All is well!

Enjoy that last full day Ellen and co.

  5. I’ve enjoyed your site for well over 6 months. I’m in Wilmington NC..about 45 minutes from Katie’s new Marine Corps home. Hope you and “Dear” enjoy your flight back home. Put Wilmington on your to-do list with your next visit in our ‘neck of the woods’.
    Take care,
    Mary Lou
P.S. I married my Marine 44 years ago and counting…
