…the news from the East Coast and hoping for the best for all the people who live there. Praying for all those who will be in the path of Irene. We are paying close attention and our daughter is getting updates from Camp Lejeune, her and Andrew’s home in the near future. Camp Lejeune is on the coast of North Carolina, southeast of Jacksonville.
That said, is anything else happening around the world? Is Irene the only news?
This photo was taken in Ventura, California over a year ago during some high surf activity.
All’s quiet in this part of the world – blessedly quiet. We’re thinking of friends and family on the east coast, US and Canada, and praying for a soft landing for that hurricane.
All quiet on the western front in LaLaLand. The best excitement has been finding fun and unexpected things in my mailbox. We’re expecting warmer weather this weekend, high80s/low90s.
Ahh… so you got the book. I hope you enjoy it…
We just heard from my daughter in DC. She says everyone there is buying up emergency rations and worrying about flooding on the ground levels. My BIL and SIL are here from DC, supposed to fly out tonight on red eye but apparently flights are canceled.
Daughter is a teacher there and during the earthquake the students were scared to death, never having experienced one before. She said one girl yelled, “Oh, my Lord, oh my Lord, Jesus is a-comin’ and I ain’t been a practicin’ Christian!”
Just the same old stuff here…HEAT and MORE HEAT.
Hope all is well with you.
