Our God Cares for His Children…

My dear friend from Count it all Joy and The Matson Sisters has been having the struggle of her life this past week. Some of you may have visited her blog. She’s been in I.C.U. on a ventilator and unconscious. Kathy B. is my cousin Jim’s sister in law, my good college friend Jeanie’s sister. I introduced Jim and Jeanie to each other in college and they got married!  We’ve had a wonderful friendship over the years and through blogging Kathy B. has become my dear friend. Kathy B. has struggled with her form of cancer for 28 years. Our family and friends have been praying for consciousness and for Bill and Jeanie to be able to communicate with Kathy. We received amazing news on how God has been answering our prayers and Kathy regained consciousness and has been able to speak and give input on her care.  She was released from I.C.U. today. She will be released soon from the hospital to hospice care. We love you Kathy B. and thank God for your life and the impact you have had on ours! May God continue to prepare you and all of us for what he has for us…

  1. That is wonderful news, Ellen, and I will join you in prayers for continued healing and well-being for Kathy. All praise to the One who answers His childrens’ prayers!

  2. Wow, I didn’t realize she had been battling this so long. I’ve read her blog off and on for a while. Such a difficult time…thankful she rallied to go home. Praying a special measure of His presence for all of them…..

  3. Thank-you Ellen for sharing the update….it is such a blessing for Kathy to regain consciousness. And to you my dear friend….that title has significant meaning…as I just wrote about it myself…and I’m thinking about your family also…It is such a blessing to know that he cares for our children….

  4. May God supply each moments needs in the coming days. I will continue to pray for Kathy B and for each of you that are near and dear to her. I know from experience with my mom that the hospice is a wonderful place of care and understanding. May God’s comfort be your portion.

  5. God certainly does provide what we need. I am always surprised to find how different that can be from what we want. Blessings to your friend and her family…

  6. In a few short moments things have changed and I find myself feeling very broken for this experience you’re all going through. I had never visited these blogs before so imagine now my visiting and finding friends. I especially loved a post on The Matson Sisters of Jeannie and Cathy walking hand in hand. The comment was that sometimes we have to put our big girl pants on and how it felt as if they couldn’t do that after their parents died. I have felt that way and so I’m praying that courage and peace and even joy will attend this challenging time. Thank you for introducing me to these special women.

  7. May God’s grace be suficient for you and Kathy as you walk this path with your dear friend! He is a God of miracles… whether it be in healing or in the peace He gives.
