Count Your Blessings
When upon life’s billows you are tempest tossed,
When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost,
Count your many blessings, name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.
Refrain
Count your blessings, name them one by one,
Count your blessings, see what God hath done!
Count your blessings, name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.
Are you ever burdened with a load of care?
Does the cross seem heavy you are called to bear?
Count your many blessings, every doubt will fly,
And you will keep singing as the days go by.
Refrain
When you look at others with their lands and gold,
Think that Christ has promised you His wealth untold;
Count your many blessings. Wealth can never buy
Your reward in heaven, nor your home on high.
Refrain
So, amid the conflict whether great or small,
Do not be disheartened, God is over all;
Count your many blessings, angels will attend,
Help and comfort give you to your journey’s end.
Refrain

It’s been a busy week! I just enjoyed relaxing and catching up on your recent posts, as well as counting your blessings which have blessed me! Have a wonderful Sunday! Love that piece of furniture – gorgeous!
Cherry trees are lovely! There are 4 in our neighbors’ yard that are in full bloom! They planted them years ago and then moved away…I’m so glad they did because I’m still here and still enjoying them! 🙂
When I stand under a cherry tree in Victoria and look up at the sky I know that I am one of the most fortunate people in the world. I live in a peaceful country, I have work and more than enough to eat in my cosy house, my daughter goes to school and my husband and I come and go, unmolested. The hymn is a good reminder.
How lovely, Ellen. That song is one of my favorites, even before I knew how to read. 🙂 I remember just loving the tune of that song when I was a wee child.
Pretty in pink! Yes, we have much to be thankful for..PTL!
This hymn always makes me happy. It’s impossible to count our blessings and remain discontented.
Ah, one of my very favorites growing up. Love it when everyone sings it in parts 🙂
Such simple words but so profound. A lovely photo.
