That Pumpkin Time of Year…

The truth about me and pumpkin patches…

It’s all about the photos. I’m not fond of crowds and to arrive at a Pumpkin Patch with 10,000 10 school buses in the parking lot makes me wince. Have you seen the prices of pumpkins at Safeway? $1.99 and $4.99 for smallish and medium size pumpkins and there are a gazillion to choose from. I have to admit, though, the photo ops at Safeway were non-existent. Maybe, just maybe, since the weather has been dry here all week long and the mud will be in dry cake form I might try to make it to the pumpkin patch tomorrow. How about you…do you buy your pumpkins at your local market or do you trek out to the pumpkin patch? Do you make the trek even though you don’t have little ones to take along? Maybe you avoid pumpkins altogether…go ahead I’m listening.

Photobucket replaced all my photos with ugly black and grey boxes and they are holding my photos hostage until I pay them lots of money. I’m slowly going through all my posts and trying to clean them up and replacing some photos. Such a bother.

  1. I do the easy way out…Safeway LOL I don’t even know if we have a pumpkin patch here 🙂 Great photo 🙂 Maybe I should Bing it 🙂

  2. Once again you’ve inspired me…I will have to go to our grocery store and take pictures out front…the numerous kinds of pumpkins they are selling are amazing to me. But so far my favorite is the Apple Gourd. 10 school buses would make me turn around…..

  3. Last year was the first year we actually headed out to a pumpkin patch — all for Baby’s sake. 🙂

In my past life prior to Baby, my pumpkin experience consisted only of the canned pumpkins for culinary purposes. 😉 I am a bit embarrassed to admit that, but since you asked…

  4. I took my little Silas to the garden shop today to purchase new tulips bulbs and of course he fell in love with the pumpkins….So we bought the miniature ones…one for Daddy, one for Opa…and on it goes…I’ve welcomed the change as I see it through the eyes of those little ones.

  5. I use to go to the pumpkin patch 5X a season when I worked at the preschool,( unless I could arrange a parent meeting or some excuse). It got really old despite the magic of watching the kid’s enjoyment. Here, mud wasn’t the problem…it was major dust. Late afternoons are the best time, no schools and the light is good too.

  6. We have a veggie stand just up the street that transforms into a huge pumpkin patch each oct. I go there for my gourds. Didn’t take the hooligans with me this year as I was pressed for time. The pics were taken on my front porch.
