Looking back at this week and remembering some favorites. Visit Susanne at Living to Tell the Story to join in with your favorites!
We arrived back in Southern California on Sunday night and began the task of getting used to being here in the south.
1. On Tuesday morning Willow and I resumed our walks in her neighborhood. It was good to walk again and to push ourselves up those hills. We had clear, sunny, crisp weather for our walk.
2. On Wednesday I drove to Pt. Mugu because I wanted some winter shots of the beach. I never tire of seeing the beach and hearing the waves break. God has really created beautiful things for us to enjoy.
3. I made a quick stop into the local Goodwill and was able to pick up 7 Johnson Bros. dinner plates in the Asiatic Pheasant pattern that my SIL has been looking for. I asked them to lower the price on each plate since I was buying all 7 and they agreed! Yippee…
4. I made Ree Durmmond’s White Chili this week and it was really good. I recommend the recipe to you. I forgot to take a picture for you but click on over and you’ll see lots of pictures…
5. NEW SHOES! I’m so happy with my new shoes that I found at good ole Fred Meyer when I was in Washington. I wanted shoes I could slip on and wear with jeans that weren’t white tennies!! They are very comfortable and give me the support I need. They are Sketchers and I got them on sale with an extra $10.00 off.
Hope you are having a good week. I’m trying real hard not to get Dear’s ick that has been keeping him home from work this week…I just might be losing that battle, ugh!
Photobucket is holding all my photos that I stored on their site from 2007-2015 hostage replacing them with ugly grey and black boxes and asking for a large ransom to retrieve them. It is a slow process to go through all my posts deleting the ugly boxes.
Love those shoes. Very cute.
Glad to hear you’re settling back into the South routine. You pictures you take on your walks are always so gorgeous and probably as close to a beach as I’ll get.
Oooh, I’ve been wanting some shoes like that!
Cute shoes! Are they good for walking? Ah, yes, winter beaches in Southern California. They make the high cost of living, earthquakes, fires, smog, traffic and congestion worth it.
Welcome home, Ellen! Wishing you & yours much love, peace and joy in the New Year! :o) ((HUGS))
Great photo’s of the beach. I don’t think I’ll ever tire of the sound of breaking waves.
And I love the shoes – cute and comfortable looking.
Sounds like a great week back in CA. I’ve never made white chili…but went over to check it out…and I think I’ll give it a try. Looks yummy!
Cute shoes, and a great deal!
I’m not usually brave enough to ask for lower prices unless something is damaged, but my husband does so all the time, and it’s amazing how often they oblige.
I so love those ocean shots.
I mentioned on Willow’s FFF that when I see ladies walking in our neighborhood, it reminds me of the two of you. No pretty ocean views in our neighborhood, though.
What a DEAL on those cute cute shoes! *thumbs up!*
Tough job gettin’ used to bein’ back in the south… I’ll pray for you on that one! 🙂 I sO agree with your “views” on the ocean! I never feel closer to God than when I stand beside the ocean. It’s majesty and power just speak God to me! I LOVE it!
I’ve never made white chili – but if it’s Ree’s recipe I know it’s good – and not allowed on my diet! 🙂
Praying you stay well, my dear. And if you do happen to get sick at least you can take a bit of comfort in knowing you have cute new shoes, right? 😉
Oh, I love those shoes! They ARE comfortable!
Beautiful pictures!
Have a great weekend! (Can I possibly use any MORE exclamation points?)
!
Those shoes are so cute – very hip! 🙂
What a great FFF. I love the shot of your new shoes on the welcome mat. All your photos are just stunning 🙂 Have a great weekend 🙂
Nice shoes! I’ve got a couple pairs of those myself. They are sooooo comfortable!
Chilli and shoes sound good…I’m tired of wearing my tennis shoes everywhere…so I’ve had fun this past fall trying to find something just a bit more soft looking and casual..
I have never tried white chilli, but I have my beef ready to go..
LOVE the shoes!
The views on your walks is so beautiful. I love looking at the pictures you share.
Those pictures are a lovely contrast to our cold and snow. Wow I feel all summery just for visiting. 🙂
Love the new shoes.
Wonderful photos and love the shoes your in!
I’ve been to Pt Mugu before, its a beautiful place. And I too have stopped wearing tennis shoes with my jeans. I have a couple of comfortable flats that I wear and although they are not as comfortable as my tennis shoes, they are more stylish 🙂
What a beautiful place to walk! You are right about God’s creation. They’re always there for us to enjoy. I agree about comfortable shoes. I wish I could wear the same pair everywhere (but that’s not my attitude ten years ago) 🙂
Just love your pictures! I have a son in California, so they bring him to mind, and they’re just beautiful.
Love the shoes!
You are so blessed to have such a lovely place to walk….and a friend to walk with. I’m glad, because I love to see your photos from your walks.
Yay for the great deal on the plates!
Well darn Ellen B., I gave away a whole set of JB Blue Willow for free. Sometimes they can be found at TJMaxx…I love that place!!!!
I hope you have a lovely weekend!!!
🙂 cori g.
Love the shoes–so pretty. And the pictures of the flowers and the beach are fantastic. You are so right–God has created such beautiful wonders that we could never get tired of them. Praying you don’t get sick!
The beach pictures are beautiful Love the shoes. Don’t you just love Good Will Stores? I do.
Adios from the evergreen state and back to sunny Cali! I am envious of your warm weather. I think it’s time for a trip to the southwest!
I love your new shoes! I’ve been considering that very pair — and for the same reasons. Not only are the sensible, but they are so cute!
Happy walking!
LaTeaDah
I love your shoes! Sketchers are making the nicest styles these days.
The beach scene is fabulous. I love the sound of ocean waves and the cry of seagulls at the shore.
I love the ocean shots. I remember being on Pt. Mugu. Did you see seals all over the place? Last time I was there they were out sunning themselves. It was really cool.
