Friday’s Fave Five ~ Where’s My Brain?

When I woke up today and wondered what day of the week it was it dawned on me that I forgot all about Friday’s Fave Five. Scramble, scramble here we go. Thank you Susanne for helping me keep my days straight! Visit Living to Tell the Story for more favorites or to join in.

1. On Sunday I was still in Southern California and Dear and I met his brother and wife for a birthday brunch at the Tam O Shanter in L.A. We don’t get together very often with T and C and it was fun to catch up a bit and enjoy a good meal together. Turning 60 is a very good excuse for a nice meal.

2. On Monday Willow and I were able to get a early morning walk in and it was hot, hot, hot already. It was good to catch up since we hadn’t walked for a couple weeks. What a surprise to see theΒ  Jacarandas still blooming.

3. Monday evening I flew to Seattle in a smaller plane where the seats were closer together and smaller then usual (is that’s possible?) but I had a window seat and got some fun shots of Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Rainier. I arrived in Seattle to warm temps, too.

4. Tuesday evening I joined my kids and a friend at the U.S. Open Cup game at a small venue to see the Sounders beat Houston 2-1 in overtime. It was an exciting game and fun to be right on the field. Again it was very hot.

5. Making blueberry muffins with blueberries from my bush was another fun treat this week.

My daughter’s sunburn is finally in a tolerable stage and it’s good to see her feeling so much better. Wednesday was a very hard day around here. Friday is really looking up!!

Blessings and I’m looking forward to seeing what you’ve been up to.

Photobucket is holding all my photos that I stored on their site from 2007-2015 hostage replacing them with ugly grey and black boxes and asking for a large ransom to retrieve them. It is a slow process to go through all my posts deleting the ugly boxes.

  1. Y’know, it’s just not nice that you aren’t even aware which day it is… I suppose that’s what retired people get to enjoy πŸ˜‰ Nice shot of the four of you.

  2. I’m late, too, with the Fave Fives. I didn’t even take a single photo all week long. What’s with this summer schedule?

  3. Good morning Ellen B.,
Or is it? I woke up this morning at 6 am and it was 80 degrees in my cottage!!! I hope your day is cool and I’m glad you know that today is FRIDAY!!! I guess blogging is good for remembering what day of the week it is.
Glad to hear Katie is feeling better.

    xoxo Cori G.

  4. Great collage photos! I love the cloud one. And I note the beautiful plate your muffin is resting on.

One of the reasons I love FFF is that it makes us realize how our week went. It can go by in a blur if you don’t stop to think about it!

I always wondered what a jacaranda looked like. Beautiful!

  5. We have blueberries coming up here too. I love to make muffins with them. We don’t have hot weather this summer. Just lots and lots of rain so I’m envious of your hot stuff.

  6. I was late too – and then forgot to sign up πŸ™‚

Our blueberries are just starting to ripen – I have some wild ones growing in our back field. I’m looking forward to muffins.

Glad to hear Katie’s a little better. Sunburns are miserable.

    Have a good weekend Ellen

  7. Homemade muffins with homegrown blueberries? Heaven on the tastebuds!

I missed the sunburn story due to not making it around to read blogs this week. Hope she continues to feel better. That is no fun!

  8. Hi Ellen, looks like you are in for some really hot weather soon in Seattle! Your blueberry muffins look quite delicious. I’ve been buying blueberries at the market to eat on my morning cereal…lucky you to have your own blueberry bush.

  9. I love your photo’s especially the clouds – just so pretty.
Looks like you had a great week all round. Enjoyed reading your list.

  10. the muffin looks scrumptios! Berries from your own bush! that is a blessing, indeed!

Love your photo of Mt. Ranier (?) ….very cool.

It is nice that you had time with your kids and with your siblings!

    Have a good week.
