Time flies when you’re old having fun. Here it is Friday already and it’s time to list our favorites from this past week. Visit Susanne from Living to Tell the Story to join in on the fun.
1. We had two good walks on the weekend. Our first walk was to the Farmer’s Market on Saturday morning while it was drizzling. Then on Sunday we walked to our usual Mexican Restaurant for lunch. We were feeling oh so European.
2. On Saturday my brother Tim and his wife Letty came over for most of the day and we had a special birthday dinner for Tim. We served barbecued Rib Eye Steak, roasted fingerling potatoes, mushrooms sauteed with onions with a cream and white wine reduction, and a salad with persian dressing. For dessert we had a limoncello cream cake. From some of those descriptions can you tell I watch Top Chef? Anything is fancy if you put the right description with it :0)
3. We’ve experienced some “weather” here in Southern California and it was nice to have rain and big fluffy clouds around. Now we are in another Santana Wind pattern which warms things up considerably. Willow and I had quite a windy walk on Thursday.
4. Every couple of months my mom and dad have the “girls” over for dinner. This past Tuesday my sisters, my SIL’s, and my nieces along with grand nephew Jackson met at mom and pop’s for dinner. It’s always so much fun to get together. We laugh a lot.
5. One more of my favorites was to meet up with my bloggy friend Cori face to face for the first time this past Tuesday.

Photobucket is holding all my photos I stored with them from 2007-2015 hostage unless I pay them a lot of money. I’m slowly cleaning up many posts from this time period and deleting their ugly grey and black boxes with a ransom request. Such a time consuming bother.
I love pictures of your parents…such sweet joy.
Ellen,. . . .your fave fives are always a delight. . .and your pictures are the proof of it all.
Hey look at that! We made the top 5 list…how fun is that! We are having awful hot weather here and I hate the wind with a passion. Breezes I love.
Your parents are so darling Ellen B.
I hope your adventure is grand today!
đ Cori G.
Awesome list! Great #4. Family get togethers are so important
You crack me up with your #2, Ellen. I wonder how I can fancy up my description of good old hamburgers we’ll be having? LOL. I love Top Chef too.
Happy Birthday to your brother. There’s lots of birthdays this week in Fave Fives participants.
Hi Ellen! Great 5 … your folks are adorable … and what a pretty table setting.
And more wind today! Restaurants should hire you to write their menus!
Your meal sounds wonderful….how can I make plain ole stir fry sound fancy?!??
Loved your list….the pic of your parents is wonderful.
Have a blessed weekend.
its fun to meet bloggy friends. I am going out with a couple tonight!
Sounds like a really pleasant week……..except for the wind. How sweet to have your parents invite all of you for dinner!
Hope your weekend is pleasant too.
A lovely 5 Ellen! You’re such a good inspiration to walk – also to eat đ
That’s a cute picture of Mom and Pop. I am looking forward to seeing your tablescape on Thursday. The little peek looks fabulous.
I live in So. Cal, too! The rain this past week was so appreciated! I just wish winter were a bit longer around here!
A nice well-rounded set of fives, Ellen đ Some friends, some family, some weather, some food together… Happy weekend!
What a nice, full week you had! I love your photo montages.
