The Beach at Dawn

Welcome to the 2nd Outdoor Wednesday hosted by Susan at A Southern Daydreamer. This past weekend Dear and I spent a lot of time on several different beaches in California. These dawn photos are taken at Emma Wood State Beach in Ventura, California on Saturday morning.

Being walkers with the dawn and morning,

Walkers with the sun and morning,

We are not afraid of night,

Nor days of gloom,

Nor darkness–

Being walkers with the sun and morning.

Photobucket is holding all my photos I stored with them from 2007-2015 hostage unless I pay them a lot of money. I’m slowly cleaning up many posts from this time period and deleting their ugly grey and black boxes with a ransom request. Such a time consuming bother.

  1. I LOVE having blogging friends all over the country. It’s like I get to see all sorts of glory while I stay home. Your warmth seems VERY appealing right now—I just can’t seem to get warm. I find my self wanting to lay on the floor in our dining room and sun my self like our animals. Beautiful Ellen, absolutely beautiful.

  2. Happy Outdoor Wednesday!

Just what I needed…photos of the beach…. so I can imagine walking along… smelling the sea air…and picking up shells…. ahhhh (oh darn, I was interupted by the wind howling outside my windows…brrr it is chilly out there!)

The beach is heaven on earth for me!

Love the poem too…not sure I have heard it before…but I love it! Thanks for sharing both!

  3. Ellen…I am so glad I came to your blog for Outdoor Wednesday! Your pictures are breath taking. Thank you so much for sharing with us! 🙂

  4. Ellen B, you make me wanna “B” with you there on the ocean sand…the shore……and please, pick up a shell for me! We love the ocean and it’s been way too long since we’ve experienced her! Totally a great reminder to plan a long weekend to drive to Destin, FL., our old summer vacation area which we’ve missed going to for probably 10 years. 8-( Thanks for the reminder to stop and walk the beaches…whenever one can! Thanks for the recent comments on Catherines Tea Cups site., I always enjoy your sweet words! Blessings to you on this lovely Winter Wednesday! ~CC

  5. Ellen, the beach photos are beautiful and the poem a perfect fit. It sure does take me back to my years in Miami. The beach was our life back then.
This winter weather is fun but I am glad it won’t last.

    Hugs…Jeanne

  6. What a peaceful scene. There is just something about dawn. It holds such new promise. It’s a clean slate like the beach, with fresh clean sand.

  8. What a beautiful morning! Did you see the movie City of Angels? One of my favorite scenes is when all the angels gathered at first mornings light to take in the warmth of the sunshine and no doubt listen for God’s voice in the crashing waves.
Have a wonderful day Ellen B.
