This week I’m showing my Dresser Mirror that I saved before it was sent away with a Christmas themed arrangement I placed on the added shelf on the bottom of the mirror. My husband added the shelf to it before we hung it on the wall. If you saw my Blue Monday or Tablescape Tuesday you’ll see a lot of the items from my Blue Christmas table re-grouped here. This will serve as my Christmas mantle at the condo.
The gold pieces are ornaments for the tree as is the Santa. The Pewter creamers are filled with Christmas Sprays in blue and crystal and silver. Here’s a collage with closeups of the items on the shelf. Now just so y’all know we at our house know that Santa is pretend and we love him in a pretend way but above that we know Jesus is real and saves us from what we deserve and then gives us our Hope and our future. We love Him in a real way…
If you live in the USA I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving. To everyone else have a great last week of November.
Photobucket is holding all my photos from 2007-2015 hostage and demanding a ransom for me to access them. I’m slowly cleaning up many of my posts where PB have added ugly black and grey boxes where my photos used to be. So frustrating!
Great idea– I see old mirrors all the time. This one is sooooooooo sweet!
Ellen
What a clever use for an old dresser mirror! I love the way you have it decorated…and black was the perfect color to make it really ‘pop’!
Thanks so much for participating!
Hope you have a wonderful holiday,
Diane
That’s a beautiful mirror; I’m glad you figured out a neat way to use it.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and Dear, too! Have a safe trip, good sleep, and wonderful time!
Ellen, that is such a clever use for your dresser mirror! And I love how you always put such meaning into your descriptions of your ornaments and things you love. Here’s hoping you have a blessed holiday and that you will experience God’s richest blessings on Thanksgiving, Christmas, into the 2009, and beyond. All good wishes…
Sheila 🙂
That is an excellent reuse of a pretty mirror….clever idea to add the shelf! 😉 Bo
THat is very pretty…I love the shelf so you can change the decorations around and keep it festive with new things all the time–great idea! Happy Thanksgiving to you & yours, Ellen ((HUGS))
Hi Ellen, I love the idea of trash to treasure. You have done a great job creating treasures. I hope you have a safe trip to Seattle and a very happy thanksgiving! As ever, Carver
THIS IS A FABULOUS IDEA AND THE DECORATIONS ARE EXQUISITE….ANN
I love how you used the little pewter creamers. So cute.
I have been in love with that mirror ever since I saw it the first time on your blog, Ellen! 🙂 I think it is perfect for all the different pretties you have placed on the shelf.
Have a safe trip – and HAPPY HAPPY THANKSGIVING to you and yours. Thank you for being such a blessing to me through your blog postings!
Very beautiful Ellen! I hope that you, Dear and the family have a blessed Thanksgiving holiday filled with love, lots of laughter and thankful hearts!
Oh, it is beautiful! I am so glad you kept and found so many wonderful uses for it. Your husband has to be a dear to put the shelf on to display all your beauties.
Sometimes I forget we don’t all live here in America and thanks for the reminder.
Hope your family has a wonderful Thanksgiving!

This is such a fantastic mirror!

Ellen, your mirror is so pretty and the shelf your dh added is the perfect touch. Look at all the fun you can have decorating for the seasons. Your Christmas decor is perfect in gold with a touch of blue. Nice job Ellen.
Hugs…Jeanne
That’s a beautiful mirror and shelf. I just love your Christmas decor too. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
Your mirror is beautiful. I have a friend who did something similar. She took a dresser mirror with shelves on each side and painted the wood gold. Very bold, but amazingly beautiful when decorated with candles and greenery. She placed it in her living room and it was quite stunning.
I hope you were blessed with a delightful homecoming today!

I have 3 or 4 dresser mirrors I was just waiting for inspiration on ,you have just inspired me,I have open plan living room with no real hallway no floor room for a table or stand ,but have always wanted one to drop keys etc on ,when my husband comes in (he is forever losing his keys) I believe I will steal your idea but add a small draw underneath the shelf for hubby’s keys.
thanks

Ooh! This I like! I’m assuming you made it back home yesterday and knowing you’ll have a wonderful time with your children and family.
Have a wonderful day, Ellen B.

Ellen,
your recent posts bring a question to mind; where do you find room to store all of your beautiful things? This problem keeps me from many a purchase!
I just saw your beautiful mirror. I have one very similar. Exactly how did you attach it to the wall? I have the perfect spot…..just not sure how to hang it! Thank you in advance for any advice!! Linda
Linda, my husband attached a wire, similar to what you see on large art pieces across the back fastened to each side of the mirror. Then we used a picture hanger on the wall to slide the wire over to secure it. I hope that makes sense.
