First off I’m so excited about everyone’s suggestions for San Francisco. Thank you so much for taking the time to tell me about your favorite experiences there!
This week I’m going to share my 1 favorite thing from this week and 4 of my many favorite things about Fall.
1. Top of my list this week is flying on Thursday to our Home outside Seattle, Washington to do a little work around the house and get it ready for the fall months ahead. Of course the best part of the long weekend will be spending some time with our kids.
Now for 4 Favorites about Fall I’m looking forward to.
2. Enjoying the Fall colors!
3. I’m a Christian who happens to love Halloween. I don’t worship evil on this day, I get to see many children and adults from my neighborhood that I don’t normally see and give out candy which makes my heart glad! It’s a form of hospitality on a large scale in my mind…
4. Lots of good hot soup and bread never tastes as good as it does in the Fall!
5. Thanksgiving has to be at the very top of the Favorite Fall Celebration. This photo was taken way back in 2004 before I was blogging and before I thought to take a photo before we ate instead of after. :0)

Photobucket is holding all my photos that I posted on my blog from 2007-2015 hostage and replaced them with big black and grey boxes with threats. So discouraging…as I’m slowly trying to clean up thousands of posts!

Great minds think alike! soup is on my list, too. That bush is just beautiful. And Thanksgiving is one of my fave family get togethers. too.
Now, who would take a phot BEFORE you eat? The food’ll get cold, and what’s more important than that?
I love soups in cool weather, too, especially homemade ones. And I love the fall colors.
I haven’t been to San Francisco, but my older boys have and loved it. I think they probably enjoyed some of the weird street performers the most.
So where’s the soup recipe? It looks so delicious!
Oh Ellen, the thing that made me smile was the photo taken before blogging. . yes, life has certainly changed for everyone around us bloggers. . everyone knows the drill.

I just checked out the San Fran suggestions. We were there not long ago and I realize now that I must start a travel journal—I don’t remember names of things. When I read the name of Scoma’s on someone’s comment I remembered it. We ate there twice and it was WONDERFUL. I can’t wait to make soups and chowders. We have fallen into our annual Indian Summer so its too warm for them now, but I bought a bunch of ingredients the other day to be ready. Seattle and Vancouver are first on our list of trip when I can get my husband away from the office. Our girls have never been there—both so beautiful. I was there in the summer both times. Is there a really BEST time of year to visit? Enjoy your weekend.

I’m glad again that you made it home safely. I have to say that I was over joyed when I saw your Halloween pumpkin and your no apologizing for being a Christian who loves the holiday. This is something that I’ve struggled with as a Christian, but then that’s probably due to my upbringing…but we won’t go there.
So, I think I’ll go gather all my “hidden” pumpkins and bring them out for Autumn.

I vote for the soups of Fall as well! I have filled my October menu with at least a soup or stew a week. Yum!

Oh, Ellen, how I miss Japanese maples in the Arborteum in Seattle! I planted a little one here, but it just doesn’t color up in this climate.
