This week my Vintage Thingies Post is something I was so intrigued with when I was younger. This comes from my MIL Verna’s stuff again. She had a hard time getting rid of anything so we are enjoying a lot of her things now.
Does it look familiar?
Now you probably recognize what it is.
Yep! One of those fun collapsible cups. Maybe if we kept these around our landfills wouldn’t be filled with plastic water bottles. Yeah right!

Photobucket is holding all my photos that I posted on my blog from 2007-2015 hostage and replaced them with big black and grey boxes with threats. So discouraging…as I’m slowly trying to clean up thousands of posts!
I’ve never seen such a pretty one! A friend of mine puts his daily meds in his and carries it in his pocket so he always has a glass to drink from! His is metal.
That is the prettiest collapsible cup I have ever seen. I know you’re glad it didn’t get thrown away. Have a nice day. Take care.
Oh I never would’ve guessed….what a clever invention and so pretty too!! xx
Okay that is a cute one and I love Elizabeth’s comment! Genious!
I’ve never seen one of those but it sure is cute!
Oh, I remember these. This is a very pretty cup indeed. I just remember the plain colored ones. Love yours.
Gasp! It is so pretty!
These cups were the best! On a hot day, I bring one for my dog to slurp some water out of when we’re on a long walk. But ours doesn’t have those pretty flowers! Love it.
Good morning, Ellen!!!
One of the reasons I love your blog is that it is so educational. I always learn something new! 🙂 I have NEVER seen one of those collapsible cups — how neat. I am wondering what kind of material it’s made out of.
That is so cute! I’ve never seen an ornamental one like that before.
I had one or two collapsible cups, but they were just inexpensive plastic. Yours is exquisite!
I had one of these I got in a Happy Meal when I was a kid! It wasn’t nearly as pretty as this one though *L*
I remember seeing a collapsible cup when I was just a kid – about a hundred years ago. I was fascinated then and still am when I see one of them.
Wow! I would never have guessed! I thought it was a jewelry holder, or a makeup compact of some kind. Good idea about the vitamins…..
I remember a kind of yucky old one at our house. This one is so pretty.
Too cute with the little flower on it. My mom had metals ones we would take on long road trips!
I’ve never seen such a pretty one! The collapsible cups we had in Girl Scouts were ugly and they always leaked! Thanks for sharing.
Oh I used to have one of these and I loved it!!! Now I want to go dig through boxes in my garage to find it!
My Mum had a collapsible cup for a long time, she would keep in her handbag…but as they say..not as pretty!
