They Survived!

Two solid weeks without watering and these plants survived. Amazing. They are a little brown around the edges but I was expecting them to be completely withered up under the Southern California Sun!

I did bring a silk unwiltable plant for my front porch just in case all my other plants had died. I bought this at Goodwill in Washington for $5.95.

So how’s your Monday and week shaping up? I forgot that this week is going to be another busy one for me because my daughter is arriving today. I leave at 9:00 this morning to go pick her and her boyfriend up at Long Beach Airport. Tomorrow they are going to Disneyland and some of my family will be meeting up with them there, too. I’ve decided to finally meet up with the Disneyland crew, too. It will be a reapplying sunblock day for me. Have a great week everyone.

Photobucket is holding all my photos from 2007-2015 hostage on their site and have replaced my photos with black and grey boxes of ugliness. I’m slowly deleting those boxes from my blog and trying to update so many posts, very frustrating.

  1. Hi Ellen,

My Monday is turning out to be a just a tad bit stressful. I had a boo boo on my cutwork project for the magazine. So, I am having to fix it today.

But other than that, I am enjoying the beautiful day here.

Have fun meeting up with your family!!! 🙂

  2. Once again I have my windows open wide—not a normal thing in usually hot and HUMID Aug. here in Missouri. I can’t believe those delicate looking plants survived. I have to water my porch plants everyday. That’s so cool that God took such care of the smallest things. Hope you have a grand week with family.

  3. Ellen, welcome back to Southern California! I see you visited my local airport this morning! It’s the best one to fly into around here…so small and compact and nothing like LAX at all.

Have fun at Disneyland, and wear a big sun hat!

  4. Welcome home, Ellen! I am glad you are safely home (and sound).
I hope you don’t forget to take your camera while doing your walks in ‘Prettyland’ there in SoCal.
It is good your plants survived, do you generally have someone come in an water for you? We put ours outside with the sprinklers one year and they all got terrible tiny bug infestations.
You will never guess how I got here. I came via Google on the word “samovar.” You have a very informative post on them.
BTW, the poem of the week on One Single Impression is around the theme, “homecoming.” I dabbled again, I doubt I will ever be a serious poet or poem writer. 🙂

  5. And I promise I did not go over and water the plants. They did that entirely on their own!

    Welcome back!

Enjoy Disneyland and say Hi to Mickey for me.
