Eye Hath Not Seen
They tell me of a land so fair,
Unseen by mortal eyes,
Where spring in fadeless beauty blooms,
Beneath unclouded skies.
Refrain
“Eye hath not seen, ear hath not heard,
Neither hath it entered into the heart of man,
The things which God hath prepared for them,
Prepared for them that love Him.”
They tell me of a land so fair,
Where all is light and song,
Where angel choirs their anthems join
With yonder blood-washed throng.
Refrain
No radiant beams from sun or moon
Adorn that land so fair,
For He who sits upon the throne
Shines forth resplendent there.
Refrain
O land of light and love and joy,
Where comes no night of care,
What will our song of triumph be
When we shall enter there!
Refrain
Words by Fanny Crosby, 1890. Music by George C. Stebbins
Okay now….I sure hope you have more of the wisteria!! This is one of my favorite plants—when we moved here, I planted one. Guess what? Bud mowed over it!!! never did come back. Now I have one planted again, this time out of harm’s way. Hopefully.
This is a gorgeous photo. Love the lyrics. Wow.
What a perfect picture to go with that hymn!
Oh that wisteria.
I am trying to remember, in all I have done in the last 18 or so yrs to get mine to flower if I have actually laid hands on it and prayed.
I have whacked it a few times in an attempt to stimulate growth.
When all else fails…………and before it does……….PRAY
How beautiful is that! And the wisteria…my heart fluttered at the sight of it.
On another note…the festival I went to yesterday is still going on today at Santa Anita Racetrack and they do hold them in Washington state. I’ll see if I can do a little research and I’ll get back to you.
Have a restful Sabbath Day!
Cori
Have a fun party and I’m sure your Fondant cake came out beautifully!
Hey, maybe today we’ll cross paths… I go to church in Orange.
Hi Ellen,
I couldn’t find anything about Festivals in Washington but I know of an instructor who participates in them. Her web is: http://www.mandalatribal.com/welcome. Your daughter’s freind could contact her and she would have more info.
Have fun.
Lovely pairing of photo and praise!
Lovely hymn and the photo is truly a perfect match for it. Gorgeous!
What will our song of triumph be
When we shall enter there!
We can only imagine…
Beautiful!
Thanks, Ellen, for posting that hymn. Indeed…. the wisdom and the glorious riches of our Lord is too deep and wide for us to comprehend. Eyes have not seen – how true!
I love Frannie Crosby and I love those words.
Beautiful photo too.
Fanny Crosby sure knew how to write a song!
And that is the most stunning photo of wisteria I’ve yet seen. Just beautiful.
The old songs have such depth and meaning. Thank you for taking us back to this beautiful song!
That was one of the most breathtaking pictures I have ever seen! Indeed eye hath not seen! I grew up in Kenya and I thought the jacaranda trees that I had viewed were just amazing. And truth be told they are. That tree what ever it is with is flowers and leaves, wow! Thank you so much for reminding me what good and abundance there is in this world!
