Ellen b. is not known for being one to sit around making crafts. In fact I have a reputation for being not so crafty. That however does not mean I never get inspired to try to make something “cute”. I was inspired by Vicki at Windows to My Soul when she posted a great Christmas gift idea. A whisk stuffed with candy kisses wrapped in cellophane and tied with a pretty ribbon.Β On the card she wrote “Whisking you a Merry Christmas”. Here’s what the Christmas ones looked like.
I decided I wanted to do the same thing but with smaller whisks and for a New Year’s Gift for my Mom, Sisters and Nieces since we weren’t together on Christmas but we are having dinner together this week. These would also make great party favors for a wedding shower. Here’s the process I went through to make these.
I was making twelve so I got the big bag of Kisses.Β The pre-made bows I bought at Target at their after Christmas sale for 75% off. Yippee. The whisks were purchased at Business Costco in Washington State. They were very reasonable ($2.25) for the small ones.
You gently pull apart the whisk and gently stuff the head with Kisses.
You can use this food wrap to seal the head of the whisk or you can buy that fancy cellophane that you use for making gift baskets.
Tie the bow on with a gift card and you have a cute gift or party favor. And if you are me not only is it a gift that is cute but it is also a gift that causes a bit of a shock that I actually put them together. Fun all around…
Here’s how they looked at the place settings for our dinner.

Photobucket is holding all my photos I stored with them from 2007-2015 hostage. They have blacked out all those photos on my blog posts. OH BOTHER! I’m slowly cleaning up my posts.
How sweet— What a great idea!
What a wonderful idea. I’m going to put that into my files.
This is a wonderful idea! I’ll file this away for later…..be back to visit again……Betty @ Country Charm
I think you’ve gotten bitten by the craft bug! Great job!
Adorable! I love it on the place settings.

You should take up crafts more often – your wisks look great! Thanks for sharing. I will try to remember this for next year.
Blessings,

As a recipient of one of these adorable whisks, I have to say that I will DEFINITELY use the idea myself…and I’m SO impressed with your crafty self!!!
Thanks for being so thoughtful and loving to us all.
Love to you from one of your nieces!!
Those turned out gorgeous!
And I have to say, I heard of filling the wisk with candy with the tag that said the same phrase while I was selling Pampered Chef. It may have even originated there….I remember even giving demonstration parties in homes showing that candy-filled wisk and it was always a big hit! π
But the ribbon you added is ten times prettier than mine- love it!
did your card really say, “whisking” you a merry Christmas?
Jody!, No yours did not say that, I’m sure I put something deep and meaningful on yours… π
I love mine – thank you very much! π
that is so neat!
Very cute idea. It could be done for so many different celebrations. Thanks for sharing the idea.

How fun is that! I love it and will copy it for future π Have a gr8 weekend!
Those are adorable. I’ve recieved those from students when I used to work for the school district as a Christmas gift.
Hee, I just read my sentence. No, I did not work as a Christmas gift. LOL. It should have read “I recieved it from students as a Christmas gift when I worked for the school district.” Sheesh.
That is too fun! I love that, as I’m always looking for useful gifts!
Great idea! Love it!
wonderful! so so creative. I will definitely remember it and I am going to try to make it too.
From one non-craftsy person to another; I am TOTALLY impressed!
What a neat idea! I can see it for Valentine’s Day and secret sister gifts as well.
I’d say you ARE very crafty. What a wonderful idea, and those look like good quality whisks as well. Nothing like a good whisk, I always say. I have all sizes!

Cute idea, and you gave great directions for us other non-crafty people to follow.
They look lovely.
Ellen, I am all over the whole not being crafty thing. But you’re right, this is an inspiring idea. Now if I can just remember to pull this out of my brain next time an event calls for it. I wonder if I can conjure a Valentine’s Day reason? Whisking you kisses?
Hi Ellen,
You did a great job convincing me…I can’t wait for the opportunity to put this together for an event.
Great idea, thanks for sharing.
Awwww! Doesn’t it make you want to be whisked away with a whole lot of kisses! I love it! Great idea. There should be more kisses in the kitchen!
What a clever idea! They look so cute and you could do them for any holiday or occasion! You could mix it up with different candy and ribbons. How cute! Thanks for sharing!
