Faithful One ~ Brian Doerksen

Faithful One

Faithful One, so unchanging

Ageless One Your’re my rock of peace

Lord of All I depend on You

I call out to You again and again, I call out to you again and again

You are my Rock in times of trouble

You lift me up when I fall down

All through the storm

Your love is the anchor

My hope is in You alone

Psalm 92: 1-8, 12-15: (ESV)

“It is good to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praises to your name, O Most High; to declare your steadfast love in the morning, and your faithfulness by night, to the music of the lute and the harp, to the melody of the lyre. For you, O Lord, have made me glad by your work; at the works of your hands I sing for joy. How great are your works, O LORD! Your thoughts are very deep! The stupid man cannot know; the fool cannot understand this: that though the wicked sprout like grass and evildoers flourish, they are doomed to destruction forever; but you, O Lord are on high forever.

…The righteous flourish like the palm tree and grow like a cedar in Lebanon. They are planted in the house of the Lord; they flourish in the courts of our God. They still bear fruit in old age; they are ever full of sap and green, to declare that the Lord is upright; he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.”

  1. Loved the lyrics and the tree .. Psalm 1:3

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

I don’t see water but that is a thriving prosperous tree!

  2. This song is wonderful. I’ve seen Brian perform and I know the family. The words mean even more when you know that the words were written with the writer being in close relationship with his God.

  3. The lyrics bring tears to my eyes everytime i sing the song. Because I have been there, He was indeed my rock in times of trouble! He lifted me up on the several times I fell down and was about to give up.

Indeed, His Love was the answer to all that troubled me. He was there; ever there for me and still here for me especially when I am afraid, when I get scared to my bone marrow by the world.

I am most grateful and highly honoured that He should love me so much.
