Some Snow Scenes

It’s always nice to be able to sit in a warm home and watch the snow fall through the windows.

Wash yourselves; make yourselves clean;
    remove the evil of your deeds from before my eyes;
cease to do evil,
    learn to do good;
seek justice,
    correct oppression;
bring justice to the fatherless,
    plead the widow’s cause.

 “Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord:
though your sins are like scarlet,
    they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red like crimson,
    they shall become like wool.

Isaiah 1:16-18

Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean;
    wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

Psalm 51:7 (ESV)

Between snow fall we put up some lights in our backyard and it’s nice to have them shine in the darkness.

We have more snow in the forecast and it’s safe to say we will have a White Christmas.

Whiter than snow

Lord Jesus, I long to be perfectly whole
I want Thee forever to ransom my soul
Break down every idol, cast out every foe
Now wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow
~
Whiter than snow, yes, whiter than snow
Now wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow
~
Lord Jesus, for this I most humbly entreat
I wait, blessed Lord, at Thy crucified feet
By faith for my cleansing, I see Thy blood flow
Now wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow
~
Whiter than snow, yes, whiter than snow
Now wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow
~
Lord Jesus, Thou knowest I patiently wait
Come now and within me a new heart create
To those who have sought Thee Thou never said’st no
Now wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow
`
Whiter than snow, yes, whiter than snow
Now wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow
~

Snow makes for a beautiful landscape everywhere but roads and parking lots. Oye, the slush and sandy grit and dirt in the parking lots make walking into stores treacherous. I’ll need to take some photos to show our readers who don’t ever deal with snow see what I’m talking about.

On Monday the presents all got wrapped and put under the tree. After the presents got wrapped I braved the temps in the 20’s and headed to town to get some ingredients. Wal-Mart was out of Peppermint Extract but had the almond bark I needed. Super 1 was out of Peppermint Extract in the cooking aisle but had some Organic Peppermint Extract in the Huckleberry section of the store. Whew! They also had the Cocoa Krispies I wanted for Joanna Gaines Peanut Butter Balls. Now I’m reading through recipes and seeing which Christmas goodies will win my attention this year besides the Peanut Butter Balls and Peppermint Bark I’m trying from here.

Hope all is moving along joyfully as we are just 4 days to Christmas.

Morning Surprise…

Whiter than snow, yes, whiter than snow.
Now wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

The blessing by faith, I receive from above;
O glory! my soul is made perfect in love;
My prayer has prevailed, and this moment I know,
The blood is applied, I am whiter than snow.

Whiter than snow, yes, whiter than snow.
Now wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

Snow is always a surprise in the Puget Sound area of Washington state.  We only had about 4 inches, other areas got more. Some trees are down, some power is out and there are delays at the airport. Many schools are closed today. Our kids in Northeastern Washington got a foot of snow overnight. Our son is busy plowing his drive which is a long one to the main road below their home. We are not a region that is guaranteed snow and we are not good drivers in snow. One of the really scary things is that our area is very hilly with many steep roadways. Consider San Francisco if it got snow and you get the scary picture.

Headed out for a walk about the neighborhood. Happy Monday everyone.

Still Whiter Than Snow ~ Hymn

Isaiah 1:18 (ESV)

“Come now, let us reason together, says the LORD: though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red like crimson,
they shall become like wool.”

Still Whiter Than Snow

What can be whiter than beautiful snow,
Coming from Heaven to earth below,
Pure and so white as it falleth light
Over this broad world of sin and of woe?

Refrain

Yes, there is something still whiter;
Hearken ye weary, and know!
Tho’ your sins be as scarlet red,
They shall be whiter than snow.

Jesus has died, and now all men may know
That His rich blood for the world did flow;
Saved we may be, and from sin set free,
Washed and made whiter than beautiful snow.

Refrain

Beautiful souls of His saints here below,
What but His blood could have made them so?
All who believe shall His grace receive,
And be made purer than Heaven-born snow.

Refrain

Come to this Savior! He surely doth know
All of your sorrow and sin and woe,
And when you sigh He will hear your cry,
Wash you more white than the beautiful snow.

Refrain
