The Reception…

Debbee and Lenny’s wedding and reception were both in Huntington Beach on opposite sides of Beach Blvd. We met up with my sister Lana at the reception venue before the fact to help Lana facilitate and do whatever we could to get things ready for the event after the event.

We worked with Lana as long as we could before the time we needed to be at the church for the family photos.  Thankfully we had enough time to get it all together.

We had appetizers and drinks while we waited for the newlyweds to arrive. They were taking photos at the beach after the ceremony.

The wedding party and bride and groom arrived with everything set up and ready to go.

The first dance happened as soon as the couple arrived and before dinner was served. The groom worked hard to find a caterer who would prepare gluten free options since his bride has a strong reaction to gluten. The caterer was great with delicious choices for all.

The flower girls being true to their title.

My father gave advice and a blessing on the couple and on the food.

It was so good to have my kids together and to have them catch up with their cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents.

The next family wedding will be in August when Marie (in the middle) marries our nephew Caleb in Santa Barbara, California. Marie is bookmarked by our nieces by marriage and her soon to be SIL’s who she also went to school with at Westmont College in the Santa Barbara area of California.

The father daughter dance left us all in need of a tissue!

We had a great time and headed back to our hotel knowing Saturday would be another full day of organizing and pulling off another milestone family event. More to come…

In the meantime here’s where I’ll be for the next few days!

Mennonite Girls Can Cook Book Launch for our new book Celebrations

The weather promises to be just as fine as this day last July!

Jeff & Heather ~ June 27, 2009

On our road-trip to Seattle we stopped in Clovis for Jeff and Heather’s wedding. Jeff is my cousin Jim’s youngest son. It was a wonderful ceremony and reception. I appreciated how relaxed and unpretentious the whole event was. The couples youth and college pastor performed the ceremony and it made it very personal as he had many great experiences with the couple as they’ve grown and matured. We laughed  a lot, even during the ceremony. The recessional was to the Indiana Jones theme…

The colors the bride chose were vibrant summer colors. The reception hall was a gymnasium but the elaborate ceiling feature with the flowing fabric and string lights softened the room beautifully. Thank goodness for air conditioning because it was 102 degrees in Clovis during the wedding.

That’s a lot of yards of fabric! The centerpieces were individual mini cakes. Each table had a different flavor layered cake. Fun idea. After Jeff and Heather cut their cake and had a bite we all were able to serve ourselves at our individual tables.

My cousins with their spouses and kids. One of Jim and Jeanie’s sons isn’t in this photo.

The Father and Mother of the groom. My cousins and sister Kathy. The bottom left photo is of Jeanie, her sister Kathy, (who is Kathy B. from Count it All Joy) and me. The last photo is of my long time friends.

My parents. My cousin Katrina and her daughter Kristen. My long time friend Heidi and Ken. In the last photo we managed to get a shot of the Ben who was missing in the other family photo with my parents, the bride and groom and my sister Kathy.

Fun times. You should have seen the dance moves the groom and his brother Ben have…quite impressive! They were really cutting the rug! Congratulations Jeff and Heather! May God bless you richly and protect your marriage!

And in the world of the mundane… my time at the computer is limited these days. Today Dear and I are off to the hairdresser and then we have to buy a replacement oven and get it installed. I hope to get some free time soon to visit…

Photobucket is holding all my photos that I stored on their site from 2007-2015 hostage replacing them with ugly grey and black boxes and asking for a large ransom to retrieve them. It is a slow process to go through all my posts deleting the ugly boxes.

The Wedding ~ Tim and Jessica

What a wonderful ceremony and reception to celebrate the marriage of my nephew Tim to his beautiful bride Jessica.

My Grand Nephew Jackson was the Ring Bearer and he was perfect!

He walked carefully and looked oh so like a little prince.

Jessica was a stunning Bride.

The Groom, my nephew Tim, with his brothers and family. Tim is the one on the left in the upper photo. That’s his brother Levi with him. My brother Steve’s family is excited to finally have another woman in the group. The boys are happy to have a sister.

So much fun to see all the cousins together having a good time.

The Sisters, Vera, Lana, Ellen, and Kathy

The happy newlyweds. My nephew Tim…if he thinks he needs a drink now, just wait! No worries that’s only Martinelli’s and he really didn’t seemed stressed with all the excitement around him.

My married kids! Hard to believe they’ve almost been married 7 years!

My parents, Tim’s paternal grandparents at the rehearsal dinner and the wedding. See that last photo of my dad hugging Tim and Jessica, he decided it was time to take my mom home because she was tired so he walked right up to Tim and Jessica while they were having their first dance to give them a kiss and hug goodbye. He doesn’t really understand the concept of the first dance, since none of his children danced at their weddings. It was a kodak moment and all of us kids were belly laughing. Such a Moisi moment!!

Here’s my extended family minus 10 who were not at the wedding.

At the end of such a long eventful day we were all ready to go to sleep just like our Princess Hope.

Photobucket is holding all my photos I stored with them from 2007-2015 hostage. They have blacked out all those photos on my blog posts. OH BOTHER! I’m slowly cleaning up my posts.
