On Saturday morning, this fella came up behind me while I was watering and gave me a scare. I was happy that he was a friendly fella. He wanted to come inside but we set him straight. After we gave him a drink, Greg walked him down the road a piece and he seemed to get his bearings and trotted off home.

On Sunday afternoon these two fabulous human visitors were expected and we were happy to see them pull up. We welcomed them inside. 🙂
It is always good to catch up in person with one of the Mennonite Girls Can Cook and their husbands.

We had dinner together and solved many world problems.
It was a short visit and we waved goodbye on Monday morning.

These were the skies we woke up to on Monday morning.

Psalm 19 always comes to my mind when I see a sunrise or sunset that colors the sky. “The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork. Day to day pours out speech, and night to night reveals knowledge.”

It was nice to have a short reprieve from smoky skies.
Today we have ash floating in from the latest fire in our county.
Lord, please keep our firefighters safe. Give them wisdom in how to approach all the fires burning. Help them to escape when they need to. Bring them home to their families safe and sound. And, please send us some rain without lightning. Amen.
Cute doggie visitor. Great photos of you and your friend. The sky images are lovely. Take care, have a great day!
…this year we have occasionally been affected by smoke, but no ash. Stay safe and well.
That was good that your doggy visitor was a friendly fella and he found his way home. The human visitors were much nicer though. hehehe What a beautiful sky!
I’m sorry those fires are still such a problem. The skies in your pictures are beautiful!!
I love that you solved all the problems!!
Your sky photos are glorious indeed.
Amen to your prayer!
I am glad the four-footed visitor was friendly and that he got home okay.
Also glad for your other visitors; it’s so nice to catch up in person with friends we haven’t seen in a while.
I guess your visitor just stopped by for a drink. 🙂 Glad Greg sent him on his way. Always nice to see a friend. When I see a sunrise I always think that it is God saying good morning to me. 🙂
Glad you allowed those visitors inside! Sounds like you had a great visit, even if it was short. Those skies are beautiful. My granddaughter painted a picture of the planets in school a few years ago and I have it hanging in the den, with that scripture verse underneath. Amen to your prayer for the firefighters.
So wonderful – trading smoky haze for happy days, furry strays, and good friends!
Beautiful skies!!!! I am glad you had some good times with friends. There is something so refreshing about connection.
It was so nice to see Judy and Elmer on your blog! Glad you all had a nice time.
How lovely to see your visitors, both human and canine 🙂 Those skies are incredible!
